I don't know what you mean by threatened? We have gone to war with a great power(China) and you never have.

You went to war with China in 62 thats almost 5 decades back, we on the other hand have repeatedly been threaten within this decade. China and India have gone way pass 62 fiasco.

As I said, we don't need to develop a second strike for Pakistan. You seem intent on just proving that all this is for you. Fair enough, I have no cure for obstinacy.

I also said that it does not matter to India in the least whether Pakistan gets a nuclear triad because we are already under second strike ability of Pakistan as don't posses enough nuclear weapons to attack Pakistan and eliminate all the weapons there....and we are not investing in increasing the size of our nuclear arsenal.

Than you shouldn't be bothered commenting on why we think Pakistan needs a 2nd strike capability. As i have said its not meant for India alone.

We are investing in ABM which will eventually target all Pakistan offensive capability - whether first or second strike. It will take atleast a decade to mature. So for us, it does not matter whether you develop second strike.

So this point is moot at the moment. No point in bringing ABM systems into the debate.

Lastly, if you are targeting US with the second strike, know that you are not developing SSBN. You are getting a SSK with nuclear tipped Cruise Missiles...which means your submarine will remain constrained in range and depth. And US practices regularly the scenario's in which in its first strike against any country, it takes out their SSK's and SSBN's right along with land based attacks. So your weapon is incapable of helping you against US. And against us, it is already overkill till the time our ABM tech matures..but once it does, your missiles will be at risk whether land or sea based.

A matter of opinion which i do not share. Just because US can do something does not mean others should simply stop building the capacity of defending themselves in case of an attack.

Saudi Arabia $81.8- billion, India $48-billion, South Korea $33.5-billion, Australia $22.8-billion, Israel $18-billion, Iran $16-billion, UAE $14-billion, Taiwan $10.3-billion & Singapore $9.7-billion. Sadly, excluding Oman, Saudi Arabia & UAE; India spends only 2.2% of her GDP on defence; Pakistan at 2. 75% is among top 3 after Israel 6.22% & Iran 3.81%.

Pakistan has been fighting a war since 2014. Iraq spent $21-bilion in 2015 versus $7.5- billion by Pakistan; therefore additional $1-billion is not a lot.

It is because of Pakistan’s’ economic weakness that we can’t even find $700- million to pay for the F-16’s. Given the size of the army, one would expect Pakistan’ defence spending to be at least in $10-billion range, but to do so we need to give top priority to the economic development.

No, it's becasue nobody in their right mind would pay almost 1 billion dollars for 8 fighter jets.

3. Modern border control on Pak-Afghan border
4. More helicopters
5. More strategic weapons and a faster pace of nuclear development H-bombs
6. SSN and SSBNs

I personally believe that instead of salary hike for parliamentarians we should spend more on defense budget... our infantry should be around 700000... 200000 on west and 500000 on east... our airforce must atleast have 25 -26 squardon
and we must have a reasonable Navy force now... for all this 1 billion dollar hike is a peanut...

We have 300-500 billion USD of looted money in foreign countries...in their banks and assets of real estate----Just get it back and use some it to buy all of the above and more.
