What's new

Made in Saudi Arabia

actually, Samand's body is based on Peugeot 405. The thing with us is that we have a billion different models and many of them have Iranian engines. We also produce all the related materials inside Iran (of course we do import some stuff like all car companies do) but everything from windshields to door handles have a high chance of originating from a factory somewhere in Iran.

This Ghazal car is literally assembled in KSA, which is no different than an Iranian assembled Suzuki. No Iranian claims Suzuki is Iranian though.

Okay I got your reply right here.
Did you know that SABIC manufactures 16% of BMW components? Just google "SABIC BMW" Which means whenever you see a BMW in the street you better know it has "Made in Saudi Arabia" in it.
Did you know that SABIC also manufactures stuff for Hyundai, Toyota and many more.

SABIC designed the Hyundai QarmaQ car here:

And that is just the company SABIC which to be fair is the second largest company in Saudi Arabia.

So manufacturing things such as this makes "Glass and Windshields" A child's play to us. We beat the Japanese and Germans in Plastics and to some extent Steel technologies that they import from us many things.

Concept of Gazal-Sedan set to roam the Saudi streets by end of 2013. And if you are using Google Chrome and have the built in translator I highly recommend you give this a read. If not use Google translator.

You will clearly read that this car will be using Saudi designed and manufactured Engine. If you don't believe me go ahead and give it a read.

Done by a group of ambitious Saudi Engineering Students, In their site (No English of it available) They said they tried with a domestic engine but after they landed jobs they couldn't devout as much time on it so instead they opted with the ROTAX engine

ALAS if only a legitimate company would adopt their projects but apparently they want to stay their own and their link to "Domestic Engine" takes you to a page that says "Under development" We will see how far they go. Best of luck to them.
