In this case MQM is the largest criminal organization in Karachi, thus Rangers are trying to take out their militant wing before they can focus their attention on others. It is only a matter of time before these other entities are targeted.

MQM is cake walk if you ask me because MQM doesnt have Rocket Launchers or Suicide Bombers so MQM has very limited Capacity to take any action. MQM has only one Advantage that is MOB so instead of provoking the mob if Rangers first get rid of Terrorist Elements before they could make any move against them or against people. That is the point here. They can deal with MQM criminal Elements without much problem but dealing with Taliban and other Banned outfit is a problem as they are deeply positioned in Thickly Populated areas having very small streets which can hardly accommodate two motorcycles simultaneously so moving there is itself a nightmare for urban Warfare.

There is another question here in people's mind which is what if they cleaned up the city and gave it back to provincial Govt. all those Mafias elements and Banned outfits would return back to Karachi with new Confidence what would happened then?Rangers need to make sure that they should first take out REAL THREAT and then go for MQM because MQM is amendable into progressive Party while those elements cant. Things need to be sorted first otherwise Attacks like today would keep happening to LEAs and to Karachiites.
