. . . .

People have overblown Kuan Yew's contribution while downplaying the Chinese race in Singapore is the most instrumental in making us successful. All East Asian countries are rich so long as people like Fat Kim is not in charge. Loser here will claim I am racist.

My grandfather were born in China and he came to Singapore as an indentured worker. He has never complain his life is shit because of discrimination. Our family struggled in poverty for decades.

Lee is not unlike Mao. If Mao died 1956, people will think Mao is red sun. If he died in 1966, people will excuse him for making "mistake". But Mao died in 1966, so people think he is a wicked scuumbag, who has made important contribution.

If Lee died in 1985, he will be fondly remembered as a great person and no one will think about his sin.

If Lee died in 1995, people will forgive him for his property ponzi that put countless of young people in debt, putting all blames on his successor.

If Lee died in 2005, people will curse him for --population ponzi (flooding us with migrants as HK tycoon now is doing to prevent asset crashes), but many will still sincerely argue on his favors, claiming that Lee has good intention of bring in talents. (We even naturalize prostitute and criminals not)

But now Lee died in 2015, he is now revile everywhere in Singapore. He will not just be hated for property ponzi, population ponzi, traitor of his colleagues, gambler who lose all our savings. He will be remembered for putting all his relatives in leadership of Singapore aka nepotism.

Our current president Tony Tan who manage sovereign fund GIC lost his pants--USD30 billions. He is Kuan Yew's nephew. The other sovereign fund Temasek lost USD 40 billions. It is run by Kuan Yew daughter in law Ho Ching.

To make up for loses, Singaporeans are slapped with all sorts of junk fee and stealth taxes. Government hike all fee of essential services like power and healthcare, vehicle ownership fee (A Toyota Vos cost US100,000 here). We paid among world's highest power tariff...etc

Mao did provide a lot of room for Deng's reform, since China was too weak to open its market back in 1960s.

Without its own nukes and ICBM, I don't think that China could escape its fate of being recolonized by the western powers again via the open free market.

Deng had also made a lot of mistakes by allowing the privatization going into the pocket of those princelings and created a larger wealth discrepancy.
Mao great leap is a massive disaster. Mao is sure good in fighting war. But running a country economy is not the type of job suitable for Mao. He better leave it for Deng.

Mao was the foundation, and you cannot completely deny his contribution to PRC and give all the credits to Deng.

This is not a correct way to interpret China's history.

I am not giving all credit to Mao but his great leap , cultural revolution and bringing down Deng reform is sure leave a bad taste among all Chinese.

There is no denying he United mainland China. But if he gracefully hand over the power to Deng rather than start the cultural revolution to consolidate his power. He sure will be revert as the best CCP statesman.

Remember how liu shaoqin killed by Mao? Liu is a great China stateman too and shall not ended his life this way. Dend decide to reinstall liu position after he claimed power in 1978 is a great gesture for his death.

Lee shall learn from Deng, when Deng handed over his power. He never start a dynasty of passing his power to his son or family members/close kin.

Deng is a true great leader.
That cannot be say for Lee who made his son the PM to continue his dynasty.

Deng had too weak emphasis about the ideology, since the pro-western liberalism had became rampant during his reign.

The economic reform is a double edge sword, since you can benefit from this by opening your market, but you can also have the risk to weaken the foundation of your regime. Why the 1989 event only happened during Deng's era? Because he didn't restrict the liberalism during his reign. That's why Xi Jinping now has to find a common thing between Mao and Deng.

BTW, we shall pay more respect a dead person by stop going off-topic here.

Lee was the best Chinese politician the West could ask for. Good thing he was in Singapore.

Kuan Yew best years was the time where the old guards of PAP were still around. Many of these old guards espouse elements socialism. These old guards rein Kuan Yew.

1985 is the watershed whereby Kuan Yew managed to get rid of all old guards and have free hand in experimenting in buidling a country base on his own wet dream.

Within 10 years, life in Singapore become ever more miserable, meanwhile Kuan Yew is shrewd in hosting international capitalist. So all media report good things about him.

People do not know the kind of life Singaporeans are having in 1985. During 1985, SINGAPOREANS do hate foreigners. The PAP old guards were there to calibrate the flow of foreigners. Even there are a lot of foreigners then as well, we are just do not care.

Health care is low and housing is low.

Also the old guards make sure Singaporeans got the top jobs, especially in our state own enterprises.

Today with Kuan Yew, at least 90% of our engineering graduate are not able to find engineering jobs. The rich are able to find a 10 years experience engineer from slump and they are not going to hire Singaporeans.

Due to uncontrolled immigration, a 100sqm private appartment in our suburd cost USD 1 million. Those who want to buy public housing from government need go red tape after red tape get only get house delievered in 5 years. A Toyota Vios cost USD100,000.

Singaporeans are in debt and we took 30 years mortgages. We keep working and working and stop reproducing. Then Kuan Yew accuse us of not producing and bring in more foreigners, jacking our land price higher and making jobs more scares.

Singaporean car price in SGD. 1 USD = 1.38 SGD now. All cars bought in Singapore must be scrapped in 10 years.

He did the job well, very well. Even though his achievements are over stated but still, he was undoubtedly a great leader and visionary.
