In a move to enhance career prospects for young Saudi graduates, the Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) recently organized a Career Day and Employment Expo on its premises with the participation of various companies and institutions.
“The Career Day and Employment Expo contributes to creating career opportunities for Saudi students where they can identify job opportunities based on their skills and knowledge,” Rector of the Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) Prof. Suleiman Aba Al-Khail said yesterday prior to the opening of the expo at the IMSIU campus.
In a statement Aba Al-Khail said the four-day event organized by the IMSIU reflects the desire of the university to achieve the aspirations of the leadership of this country that would contribute “to creating career opportunities that suit the needs of our students and the Saudi labor market.”
Aba Al-Khail said that a Center for Employment Services and Business Entrepreneurship has been established at the University to organize such events with the participation of various companies and institutions to offer employment and training opportunities to IMSIU graduates.
The first and second day of the event are allocated for male students while the third and fourth are for female students where they will have direct, face-to-face contact with firms that would offer job opportunities to them.
“This event also serves as a platform to create awareness about careers and educate the graduates on methods of searching for jobs electronically during which companies may conduct a personal interview with them,” he explained.
Aba Al-Khail sees such events as providing cooperative training for students in the companies under their training programs which identify the graduates’ needs.
The rector noted the clear directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for the creation of jobs for the country’s sons and daughters, meet their employment needs and their active participation in the developments taking place in all fields.
