If you support them, why did you drop official recognition of Taiwan, preferring to recognize the PRC instead?

Both the PRC and the ROC agree that you can only recognize one of them. And all major countries in the world chose the PRC.

Any country that wants to show support for Taiwan, the very LEAST they can do is officially recognize them. Of course, that means breaking all ties with the PRC as well, since you can only recognize one.
