Its the only solution left. Life of a normal kashmiri is been under pain for the last 65 years because of the militancy, it got to stop somewhere.

I thought addressing issues like terrorism, extremism, protection of minorities etc.will normalise pak more than solving kashmir issue.

The Americans and their "magic wand" solutions. How does this so-called expert define "normal"? And normal for whom? Pakistan has gone so far off the tangent off normality in the eyes of the rest of the world that even resolving the Kashmir issue would be a mere blip on the radar. Let's say there is a solution - and this solution will definitely not involve India giving up ALL of Kashmir to Pakistan. Result: The radical elements of Pakistan will call it a sell-out and create mayhem in their own country against their own administration which they will dub "Indian agents". The proliferation of guns in that society has made matters worse - even if only 1 or 2% of your population is filled with religious zealots but they has access to guns and ammo - how does one police 2 million odd loonies? Or rein them in?

Yes probably organisations like LET,JuD may loose their influence as their primary agenda is kashmir......If pakistan is soo sure that kasmir solution will solve their problems... then solve it.... make LOC into international boarder......

Yes, It will resolve the 6 decade old dispute. India isn't looking to hold any territory beyond the LoC .

I agree that a solved kashmir problem will help india and pakistan alot but then the big question raises that what is the solution?? Accepts the LOC?
Very well but does india and pakistan have the right to break kashmir and its people apart who choosed to live along in 1947. But again as benzeer bhutto had said- an independent kashmir was never a solution.

Honestly, it would solve a lot maybe not for india or pakistan, but it certainly would for the Kashmiris. We always think about what's best for india or what's best for pakistan but while we spend so much time thinking that the only people suffering are the Kashmiris under oppression from both sides.

If anyone on our side of the border feels particularly affectionate towards their brethren across the border, they are free to cross over. The sad part is, its the Indian authorities who have to welcome and assimilate legitimate border hopping kashmiris into J&K. For some weird reason, no one wants to live in pakistani occupied part of kashmir. As for the terrorists, they usually die.Some make it across, but most of them get found anyhow.

There is no question however, of handing over territory to anyone. About the right of pakistanis, Its your problem. Not ours. We are perfectly fine with status quo if that's how you want to play.
