Mediator or no mediator, territorial integrity of India or for that matter any country is uncompromisable. Also what part do you believe a mediator will or can play?

Formalize LoC to IB? Provide security to Pakistan on the water problem in addition to existing treaties?

@Spectre ....you should really update yourself. There has only been ONE Germany for a long time now. While at it also update yourself about J&K. Your question should be where to send the separatist thugs like geelani.

And whether India should use force to reclaim P.O.K

.
Pakistan will never accept LOC as IB, if that have been the case Kashmir issue would have been solved decades ago.

You sure about that? Stated policy of GoI is that entire thing is part of India. No one is aware of what happened in Agra or if any such overtures have been made to Pakistan outside of highest levels of Govt.

What comes out in media via leaked statement or books written by retired functionaries have to be taken with pinch of salt.

My friend lets not let propaganda blind us to ground realities, Invading their side of Kashmir is a wet dream. Geelani is a harmless fool who has got way more publicity then he deserves recently. Let him continue to loose relevance and fade away like a sad old man he is. No need to make him a martyr to a cause.

Not sure i get your point about Germany. Do you want India Pak unification? No thanks

Agra was a step ahead of making LOC the IB, it was to unify Indian and Pakistani parts of Kashmir giving it maximum autonomy and India and Pakistan just retaining defence, communication and finance of their respective sides. The only solution is making the LOC the IB even if involves some population swap. This will happen in another 10-15 years India just needs to keep on growing powerful both in terms of economy and military.

.
@Spectre - you have germany twice in your list.

Oh no, absolutely no reunification. Jinnah & co did India a great favor by removing the nutjob mullahs out, why would you want to bring them back? Look at what they have done in just 70 years!

As I have stated in my edited post, no one can authoritatively say what happened in Agra, I will not count leaks and books by retired functionaries as anything other than selective truth.

Oh my bad regarding Germany. What happened, happened - Jinnah was not alone, Indian leaders were supportive of partition too. We have evolved differently based on our choices, India in addition has been isolated from worst of Afghanistan quagmire by Pakistan.

So as no one can authoritatively say what happened in Agra, we can safely discard it. Third party mediation will opens a pandora's box - autonomy, referendum and what not all, which is not in India's interest.

Arbitration will be non binding as in case of Iran Nuclear Deal, both parties will have to sign on the dotted line to make it effective. Third party is just a facilitator for smoothing the way of dialogue as both parties are too emotional for their own good.

Kashmir is made out to be way more complicated then it actually is. As things stand it is one of the easier conflicts to solve provided the motivation is there. Nuclear parity actually went a long way in ensuring that neither party holds any unrealistic expectation

It is a great bargaining chip, as it is we don't use majority of that water.
I don't want to trivialize the issue. It is not just a water source. It's my home.

Not sure how should i take that :) That God - I would be dead. Huh?
Yes. Darwinism. :D Natural selection. Times are going to get harder for Indians, especially non Muslims.

True enough, I am not all advocating giving away land.

No, I was just talking about water scarcity post 2050. Darwanism would have ensured Hindus wiped out during Islamic rule or atleast become a minority.

Being a Non Muslim and Non Hindu I am not sure how am i supposed to answer the second part.
