Well whichever way you look at it the incident was an example of how things should not be done.

No excuses whatsoever for allowing the plane to take off once it landed at Amritsar.

This is a blot the BJP led Govt will have to endure. It takes courage not to negotiate when your own ppl are involved. This is something thats now settled I believe now that a national policy has been framed.

Alongside is the subject of keeping such terrorists who can be negotiated for alive for too long. Fast track justice is needed, but thanks to human rights groups and wheels with wheels that exist can Govts do it ?

More hostages would have been shot. You wanted that or what? The hijackers were in control because NSG was not there. As I said, tell me how long it takes the plane to land refuel and takeoff?

Hey no BJP-Congress here. Despite such a disaster happening in political history, what did Congress do in 26/11? 11 hours to travel between Manesar and Mumbai!? Are we in Russia or in India for such a long traveling time? 175 people were butchered, pregnant women had to hold their babies inside themselves, and what jack could Congress do? NOTHING. The decision by the then NDA government made us lose crucial terrorists but it saved the lives of 170+ Indians which is anyday more valuable under that situation.

The bottomline is NDA was not expecting such a situation but because of their casual nature, entire India thought it had learnt its lesson. But despite NDA's term getting over, what special did Congress do except be a hapless spectator to the massacre of 200 people and like limpheads blame it on the Navy whose job is not counter terror but to engage in full-blown war?

Alongside is the subject of keeping such terrorists who can be negotiated for alive for too long. Fast track justice is needed, but thanks to human rights groups and wheels with wheels that exist can Govts do it

Agreed, Human Rights groups in India are an obstacle to fast-track action against terrorists and rebels. Instead of working to reduce social injustice like stupid honor killings, these apologist losers called Human Rights howl the rights of terrorists when scores of Indian lives are at stake.

I think Constitution should reduce the privileges by Human Rights to act in national security situations. They're more of an obstacle to India's safety than help.

India has no proof that the Taliban were working with the hijackers other than that they surrounded the plane with their own commandos.

India basis its entire assumption on this that since the Taliban must've thought that India would do a secret special forces mission and attack the plane and free the hostages, the Taliban surrounded the plane to deter the Indians.

First of all, to reach Afghanistan India would've needed to cross Pakistan. Do you seriously think that India could've secretly gone through Pakistan, then into Afghanistan then to Kandahar, then to the airport and then carry out a super duper commando mission.

If it wasn't going to be a secret mission then did India even once negotiated for such a plan? India couldn't even immobilize the plane in Amritsar on its own soil.

Buddy we have the support of Russia and other central asian countries and Don't forget Northern alliance.
Taliban are good at guerrilla war fare with their out dated weapons a commando operation is still possible if we have bought some time during negotiations.:sniper:

Israel has done the similar style of operation in Ugando and achieved success.

.
If India was so much strong and if your national pride was supreme than few individuals than why India allowed the aircraft to leave Amritsar airport ????????

Sorry Pakistan can not let its people killed by hijackers for the sack of our enemy India.

Was expecting a response on these lines.

Read post # 27. I admit the primary blunder lay with GOI. Pak who orchestrated the entire event like it did years later in Mumbai saw an occasion to add fuel to the fire. Unfortunately the fire now burns within Pak as the same man whose release was orchestrated now roam Pak beheading journalists and all kinds of ill deeds - the acid now burns into the container.

We SERIOUSLY need to learn a few tactics from Israelis. They're really pioneers of counter terror missions. It is high time NSG as an entire group starts training with Israelis in Urban warfare, hijack situations, hostage rescue 26/11 style and sabotage.

All of them are Indian citizens and the onus is on you do not blame the world for your failure.

On the other hand how we added fire to fuel ??? when your Indian minister came with bag full of dollars and release the Indian "terrorists" .

As far as i know even our intelligence organisations did not know of their activities in Nepal. (and i mean it quoting one of those who were part of that hijacking plan).

Only if India did not paid that huge amount and released those Indian criminals today we would not have seen them roaming here killing denial pearl

This argument will get us no where. We all & the world knows the truth. We only need to learn lessons & move on.

Is the intention to deter the Indians alone is not proof enough that the Taliban supported the hijackers.?

Not necessarily.Iran was there. And Afghanistaneven if our fighters cross their airspace, how do u think will they intercept us...with few antique AAA's..? And if we had gone there determined to bomb the airport to dust how will the Taliban shoot the planes..?

And also precisely for this reason alone we got the Farkhor and Ayni in Tajikistan.A few fightersstationed there would have been invaluable in that scenario.

If it wasn't going to be a secret mission then did India even once negotiated for such a plan? India couldn't even immobilize the plane in Amritsar on its own soil.

Yes..we were not prepared then. and i dont wish to put the fault on any one else other than the lack of foresight of our leaders.

But today..the situation is different.

What blame the whole world? Are you the whole world? Better stop thinking that way Jana dear. First of all, this was an operational error from our side but which fortunately saved the lives of Indian people on that aircraft. Secondly if you're going to think that all your terrorist problems and miseries are because of India, then this is not going to go very far.

You conveniently take the world's name which all the governments are even to date pressuring Pakistan and not us. And you must know that it is not money. If we were that rich as we're projected, we'd have overtaken both Japan and China alongside USA. We're still a poor country and have lots of things that are to be rectified.

Our lobbies are not there worldwide that can buy off governments to put a pressure on you.

.
The Indian Hijacking was more of a crime against Pakistan.

The released terrorists almost all made it into Pakistan and are wanted for several bombings.

Including the killing of Daniel Pearl

Yes, crime against Pakistan by Pakistanis as the hijackers and released terrorists are Paksitanis.

:lazy: nevermind if you can not understand the figure of speech.

On the other hand it was not Indian error but a big Crime YOU have committed by letting the hijackers leave your Indian airport JUST to shift blame on others (Pakistan And Afghanistan) for your failure.

if a country who's citizens were onboard could not shoot down the aircraft why you expect that Pakistan and Afghanistan should have done the dirty work for bhartis so that the next day you could have a face saving in front of bharti public.

No???

guys pls dont respond to jana. she is a instigator, she will surely derail the thread. thanks

.
@ All:

Please dont de-rail the thread by discussing Kandahar itself.

Discuss only the responses that u think ought to be given...

@ Jana

yes it was our crime to let that dogs fly away..

but the discussion here is how to avoid doing that crime again.

guys pls dont respond to jana. she is a instigator, she will surely derail the thread. thanks

:what::what: are you running out of arguments ??

I am not talking about Srinagar here but Kandahar hijacking and Indian response rather Indian role in letting the hijackers roam free along with the accused from Indian jails

No no. Let her be a part of the discussions. She's the right to do so. We cannot help it if she thinks LET are Indian sponsored, which is a common trend to simply shift the blame on the victim to make it look like a tit-for-tat blame game.

Perspectives differ.
