Joe Biden Brings China's Adversaries to White House in Major Asia Alliance

They want to repeat Qing vs 8 countries long time ago. Maybe not all of them, but Japan surely want. Of course, this QUAD alliance is a fragile one. But if China do some wrong turn, they will have the same fate as the old Qing dynasty.

For one thing, China must not think that this moment is some kind of Qin vs 6 countries alliance. Because China is not today Qin. US is Qin. China is Chu. Qin was a warmongering, with a lot of foreigner talent in the past. Just like US today. While Chu was a big and resilient cultured country in 7 kingdoms era, just like China. That's why to think that China will stand still like Qin is a wrong assessment.

They also should not want to repeat their glorious result in Korea War. Because today situation is different from that old glorious history.

But China is not alone today. And they shouldn't be alone. China is also not Qing and Uni Soviet. United States won the cold war just because of their economy might. Uni Soviet was fragile economically. they lost the support of their people just because they can't match Western economy might. But China today is a giant economy power that capable to match US economically.

The problem is China is lead by Engineers and Scientists, who care only about technology and material matters. While the problem that China must face is a social one. Look at the current situation. US attacks China mostly from social front. And Chinese leaderships care more about hard power rather than soft one. It is because those clever Engineers are not the expert of social matters. They care about how to build rocket, airplane, advanced train, etc (which are material advanced), but don't understand about social problem. Like how to buy people heart. So They can only depend on the old Marxist manual book to handle this matter.

So China needs people with social degree more today. They need people who expert in law, economy, psychology, etc. And they (these leaders) need to be ideologically pragmatic. Don't be idealistic one. Remember, Ideology is only a tool. They shouldn't hinders a country progress. China needs people who know how to buy people heart. not only Chinese citizens, but also global ones. Of course, they also needs clever engineers to support their social warriors struggle in winning the propaganda war.

Remember, hard power has it's upper limit. China is just a single country. They can become a Hercules, but they can't win a fight against another Hercules who have a lot of Meat shield. So China can't entirely depend on their hard power, They also need trusted friends. And only people who is expert in Social Technology know how to play in this game.

Meat shield? Do u mean paper shield? US allies are all weakling. EU like Germany and France most likely will not follow US.

While a powerful Russia and China alliance will make US think twice.

Social development played a large part in winning hearts and minds during the Cold War. Does China plan to spend on human development projects around the world? China will have to have an “an international version” of its culture it is willing to export. One model are the Korean media products exported around the world. Other aspects are similar would have to be similar to Soviet projects around the world minus the ideology.

the key to soviets swaying people away from the western camp was an “anti-colonial” image. But all this comes at considerable expense. Is China willing to spend money in countries to win their support.

the current example is Haiti. It is in severe need for all kinds of development aid and projects. It is also a country that recognizes Taipei. A large amount of Development aid could sway them to the Chinese camp, if it is coupled as part of Pan-African development.

Aid for clean water/filtration plants, modern agricultural training schools, NGOs that build institutions of good governance.

I think what China needs is to support people who side them in this world. Countries around the world are not united. There are people who pro China, and other pro United States. These US worshipers attacks China and try to gain influence to the people in their country; while demonize China. To counter this, China needs to maintain their "allies" around the world. Don't let people who like China turn their side and become China hater. Because that is the exact thing that United States try to do right now. To sway people heart to their side. To gain more countries that oppose China. For them, as long as China turn into Mao era China again, United States has won against China.

I think swaying people with economy aid is good. But China still need to maintain their support in order to establish a strong bases in their geopolitical struggle. Remember, China is no longer Mao era China; who close their door and hide behind their bamboo wall. The current China is a very influental big country who need to maintain their global influence against United States.

For me Putin is the biggest winner by far with everything that has happened with the world. The man has serious balls and has got everyone by the knees geo-politically and economically for Germany. He has been a winner since he came to power. Despite sanctions on his country, he has stayed firm. The Nord Stream is so critical that Merkel went US, fooled Biden into removing sanctions, and now NS2 will start operating in October.

Putin won some of the battles but will loose the war in the long term against the western dominated USA. Russia is not considered as a challenge, more as nuissance by USA and her dominions. Russia simply does not have much to offer in her inventory. Thats why USA and her minions focus her might on the far east.

In Africa for example, due to the poor transport infrastructure, it can be cheaper for countries to ship good via cargo freighter ship then to use a truck to just drive to the neighboring country.

If China builds a series of railroads across Africa, similar to the standard gauge railway in Kenya, it can improve the lives of local Africans while permanently imbedding itself in the economy of these countries. A train from west Africa (Senegal and Nigeria) and South West Africa (Angola) all the way across to Djibouti would allow transport of oil via rail car in the event the sea route is disrupted.

Special economic zones near the train tracks would allow Chinese investors to build factories to process raw materials and ship back semi finished goods to China. These nations along the route would be grateful to China and if not become allies in a conflict, at least stay neutral when trying to be swayed into joining others.

If China owns these railways, it could have exclusive commercial right to use them over its western competitors, depending on what deals it strikes with these countries.

but this still comes to the point that China will have to pay for this, and there is no guarantee on economic or diplomatic return on investment. Is China willing to take the chance, we’re it may spend tens of billions for no possible ROI?

Nah, that kind of infrastructure project will only reach Government opinion to China. Not the people of that country. China needs to spread propaganda to reach people around the world. Win their heart, or at least prevent them from becoming China hater. Because in a democracy country, Masses opinions matter. Use popular trend to reach people, and make them have positive opinion about China. It is not easy, but do-able. If China can stirs people opinion, the government of the country will have difficulty to become an anti-China faction.

But there needs to be something that brings concrete and lasting improvements to people’s lives. Not just propaganda.

rail infrastructure will allow Africans to better trade amongst themselves and the outside world, a stake in regional peace and economic development; security as the foundation for development.

water filtration plants; solar power to the villages, modern school buildings and classes in mandarin, trips for top students to china
