JF-17 Thunder performing during Dubai Air Show 2017

grippen is the clear winner. JFT seems to be sluggish. something is wrong with the chinese designs it seems. somebody uploaded the J 10 aerobatic team vid and J10 appeared to be even heavier and slower then JFT. pak has no other option but to keep on improving this jet.

I don't know where you see sluggish. Maybe you are confusing it with the LCA.

Fantastic flying very controlled, nice agressive turns and changes
In all honest flawless .....10/10

Few mistakes by the announces , they stated only 50 of the units manufactured when we know the true figures are almost 100 JF17 Thunders plus export order

Did not discuss Technical Radar / or weapon's package detail , more concerned with thrust power and turn.

:coffee: No mention of BVR capabilities or recent enhancements with hardpoints and Block 1, Block 2 , Block 3 goals for plane, No mention of Air to Air refueling

Fairly uninformed commentators :whistle:, these folks are strongly adviced to join PDF for further enhancement to their understanding

Seems like PAF need to ensure their Marketing person hands out brochures to such event's organizers so they can speak on key areas for the Thunder program instead of random comments

in the video below the commentator thought that JF 17 will nose down after the slow pass but the jet went straight up lol at the end of video.

That English commentator does not know about the thrust to weight ratio of Jf-17 thunder that's why he said that the aircraft would not pitch up .

Comparing slow passes of jf with grippen... grippen did drop the nose and took few seconds to verticle... to surprise pig commentator.. . Jf never dropped the nose and shot up instantaneously

The direct vertical climb coming out of a high alpha pass without leveling off is indicative of a good weight to thrust ratio and responsiveness of the controls.

I think they were very comparable despite Grippen being a more advanced design with more powerful engine.

Great jet and performance ruined by Smokey engines. Block 3 must be upgraded to RD-33MK so that the smoke is gone and the jet can become truly a joy to watch.
What smoke? I hardly saw any. You must have been smoking something.

can anyone explain to me why JF-17 does not perform a loop maneuver in any of the airshows? Is there a safety issue? is there a limitation on the thrust that will cause a stall? or is it just not important enough to do a manuevre like this. I know our F16s do a loop as a standard routine since the early 80s and has never had any issues. I saw the tejas also performing the loop in Bahrain last year. No flaming...just need to understand the reason why

to be honest if tejas has done it .... its probably a ridiculously easy thing to do if 1970s 3rd world country designs is able to pull it

The reason why our Indian friends try to find something to quip about our jet is simply sublime and a cause for celebration in its self. No denying the fact that Jf17 just gave grippen a serious run for its money. Way to go PAF, if only the dual seat was there from the start...

Or the PAC/PAF chalet does not have the right people to describe the aircraft's capabilities and production. A lot more effort needs to be done for public relations on the international level.

It defeats the purpose when you take a plane all the way to Airshow , and then you do the whole prep up of plane , pick the best pilot and routine is planned.

But when the actual Video demo starts on Internet or TV station the commentary of the fighter Jet , the folks are just not really aware of what the plane is capable of doing

Apart from the one mention of Thrust of the engines , not much came out on technical capabilities of the plane. They talked about the Seat manufactured in UK. Yes Russians were involved in engine

  • The commentary could have focused on Total Numbers in Production
  • The focus could have been on Hours logged by plane in Real Anti Terror missions
  • The focus could have gone to Recent addition of Twin Seat Variant
  • They could have talked about Various planned blocks for the plane
  • Could have talked about active Role at Peak of Himalayas and various climates
  • Finally the big ticket items BVR missiles and Weapons load & radar
  • Air to Air refuel functionality :coffee:
  • If you are showing a complex Engineered machinery like JF17 Thunder you really have to showcase it's potential

The two folks in charge of introducing the plane did not appear to know much about the plane. The appeared to know how the plane will turn or what maneuver it will perform next

I hope it isn't stable. Fighter are designed not to be stable. That's what makes them highly agile
Unfortunately, there's higher wing loading and no relaxed stability. That said, they might have induced relaxed stability with the JF-17B, which has three-axis FBW for control and apparently longer wingspan (i.e. reduced wing loading). This could (likely should) translate over to the Block-III.

Where are the smoke? o_O all above clips there is no smoke except in the first clip time (3:38-3:40) except this part
There were totally no smoke rest in the clips, you're reported for your trolling if you have prove than show to us without prove no one believe you:blah:
