JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

JF17 with ASELSAN POD?
Pictured below is JF17 flying with what is reportedly an ASELPOD from ASELSAN. If true, these perhaps are the first images of JF17 flying with this targeting POD.

Looks like an underbelly hardpoint. Not A new Hardpoint Which turks asked PAF to develop for POD

It just need data interface point in addition to the standard pylon carry drop tank or stand bomb mk84

Mil1553 interface on all pylons already Av. Part of alternate mission eqpt capability acquired via mirage rose program now pac has evolved it to other platforms per paf history ;)

Strange..opposite info on quwa website and the manufacturer's websites. Both say it can track. Quwa says it can track 8 targets up to 25km using laser and 55km general (assuming it means infrared). Have a look see:

With a FLIR, spot tracking onboard, why would IRST be needed? Both are Infrared sensors built to perform similar functions after all.
It will help, IRST performs better in bad weather/night compared to a FLIR/Spot tracker combo but the difference is not HUGE and IRST wont really be missed with the FLIR in place along with video & laser spot tracker
