JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

its going to be a surprise to see where PAC place.

Is it practically feasible to remove the canon from JFT (in few aircrafts) and use its place for permanent Aselson type pod?

Possible, sure.

Remotely intelligent? No. There was a fiasco with the F-4 Phantom during the Vietnam War when it was put into service without a cannon and it was shot down a lot till they decided to put a cannon on it.

Look what's behind ....

JF-17 229 + two J-20 behind.jpg

I would say YES, but not deducted from this image, which is IMO older since a 201x-type is still at shown, which have all left CAC my now.

Deino, looks like the period when they were testing IFR probe on JF. They configured the factory for J20 production..one would expect 1 plane a month. Or is it too ambitious? Your kind expert view, please!

sir this thread is not for J-20 please stick to the topic

The plane in the primer is a J20. However what Dieno is probably pointing out is the other plane in the hanger which is a J31. There has been talk of the second prototype flying soon. Is this it?
A
Both are J20. Notice the canards?

Bro, J_31 is with fixed tail fins and no canards. Both are J_20s. I think.

Hi,

There has not been a single incidence of a machine gun fire by one fighter aircraft on another fighter aircraft since the 1990's in anger---even though there have quite a few air combats---.

And that was also when you carried 2 missiles against enemy's 2 missiles or 4 vs 4 missiles and that also with an extremely poor kill ratio.

The first 3 day air battle between paf and iaf will prove that the machine guns are not needed anymore but only against ground targets and that is also a maybe---.

Hi,

There are 20 other posts from other posters on J20 on this thread---.

You got some beef with this guy.

I am not sure what air combats you are referring to here. I don't recall any reasonably matched foes meeting in the air since the Falklands maybe. But that's just me.

The standard JF-17 package also has four missiles.

That last part is speculation. Flying in such close proximity to each other's FOBs guns are bound to be used. But thats just my speculation against yours. I'll leave it with someone with more knowledge and/or experience. @Windjammer
