What's new

JF-17 (2P29) arrives in Pakistan

229 comes with the IFR probe for now and that is it. The wing roots extensions to enable the wing stations to carry more load is something that is not a first in 229, it is already being done and seen. So any talks of more hard points and any further increase in weight carrying capacity is misleading. The IFR probe is what was promised from 229 onward and that have been delieverd. rest of the birds will also get IFR probes later.

Congratulations

. . . . .

. . . . . .
The wingroots have been strengthened which now gives the JF-17 the capability to carry a Mk 84 under each wing, something until now only the F-16 was able to carry under it's wings.

So apparently we are looking forward to see Thunder with Two x Raad configuration soon? Or who knows they have already configured and flown with it as wing root strengthening had reportedly been done in 2015.

but again nothing is confirm just a guess work by some forum members ....

...........

I was part of that discussion and I believe it was decided that it wasn't a hardpoint because of the spatial constraints.

It must be under the belly to support Pods and IRST in my view not on wing tip ,So JF 17 will loosen up space for dual racks on wings and underbelly for IRST and WMD POD (plug and Play) and may be Jamming pods .@Quwa i believe that PAF might go for AESA in coming blocks without integrated IRST as you share some information about VEXEN AESA with integrated IRST since it make sense for Upgradation of all previous blocks nothing more to be changed .
