Why is BMW sponsoring the carrier landing trials ?

BMW's symbol is made of blue and white quadrants, which represent a rotating propeller, as BMW was initially an aircraft engine manufacturing company.

This Yellow/Black quadrant sign is usually found where speed tests are being done. The motion is recorded with a high-speed camera and then these stickers are used to calibrate and take measurements. They are found on car-crash tests as well.

In this case, they want to record the take-off sequence and analyze it later.



In any case, expect this carrier to serve as a training ship so that when China's own ACC come in, the pilots and crew are ready. Think of it as a floating Naval Academy.
