J-10 Will Come With T O (P) T

BTW, ToT is totally a seperate thing as compared to assembly! Putting together parts supplied by the orginal mfg. is a relatively easy job if it involves airframe and electronics integration.

I am not sure that Pakistan can handle complete or partial manufacture through orginal mfg. supplied drawings. China would have to give Jigs, Fixtures, and templates for the basic mfg. and assembly (That too for the fuselage only). The a/c is too complex to be produced fully in Pakistan.

Furthermore, the down-stream industry except for Precision Engineering Complex and certain few other engineering concerns both State owned or private can not absorb that kind of technology.

How many of you are gonna make these sarcastic remarks ???

We know we can't hold them off with such low figure, why then so much sarcasm ????

I think India will crash about 20~40 MKIs before that, since many of them will be assembled in India, which is known for quality problems, so I will put the number at 260. Given their lack of maintenance expertise, I would say less than half would be combat ready, so the number would be further reduced to about 100~130. Then, 80% of them will be stationed on the Chinese border, so Pakistan only has to worried about 20 or so MKIs. I think 52 will be quite sufficient... Don't worry about the Chinese front. In the past few months the MKIs have been harrassing the borders and they got locked dead on by our HQ-9 every time! They will be fried if they tried anything stupid.

What Taimi...did you overlook this above or are you a wrong choice of a moderator?

Hi,

My pak friends have a fetish with the word TOT---except for some fabrication work there is not much technology that we can absorb---we can assemble stuff---maintain and overhaul it very well---be a part of design of structure. Other than that, I can't say what they mean.

I think we take great liberties with the term TOT and use it extremely loosely when we want to.

Long Live MK....

Exactly. Remember that India is a bigger country with more money (though buying these many jets is a bit over extend), so Pakistan should not look at a quantity contest. Pakistan will have enough defense to stop an Indian attack, which will be more than enough. India won't try to overwhelm Pakistan because Pakistan has nuclear weapon.

My prediction is that India is due to fall apart in a few decades anyway because of over population. Without any effective population control method, they will have huge unskilled and uneducated population and not enough food to feed them. This will help their GDP but will also drain their resources at a much higher rate.

Locked on by your HQ-9s ?? Indian Su-30s being locked on by your HQ-9s ?? By name and by place you seem an Indian, i believe HQ-9 is with China, not India.

And stationing the Su-30s at China border doesn't means it will not be used against Pakistan, as with China right now hardly one Sqd or at the max 2 are stationed. And India will come over its other operational and other issues in future, so no need for you and others to crash Su-30s.

And what has my moderator post to do anything above to India ??

And no need for more Indian sarcasm, we have plenty of it here.

If the chinease Electronics Radar and engine Technology was on Par or superior to F16 as somebody posted earlier

THEN WHY ARE PAKISTAN looking towards France to spend 1.6 billion dollars to upgrade the chinease supplied radar and weapons to RDY RADAR & MICA BVR missles for the next batch of 100 Thunders

IF THE CHINEASE technology was superior to F16 ON J10 or it will be superior as posters J10 fan boys keep telling us " there is no need to go and hunt for french or western tech" JUST GO TO THE CHINEASE FOR THUNDER UPGRADE.

imo THE REAL TRUTH IS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nobody knows how good or bad J10 is relative TO both F16/52 and more importantly the bench mark in South Asia the SU30MKI ..
But i know the PAF would feel more comfortable if they had a fusion of both chinease and western technology

Totally agreed, problem is that the DSI version is going under trials and the design is yet to get the final certification for serial production, due to which the CAF is still going on with the J-10A variants, as they need these planes badly to get their 4th Gen aircraft at a good strength, but once the DSI design is finalized, CAF will also start getting this variant in their future regiments. PAF will also get them.

Discussions on technical stuff related to the plane keeps happening to make improvements & modifications in the current design and specifications, and as for financial side, well it will be revealed later on once the design becomes final and buying decision is fully made.

And as for production line, seems difficult, but may be assembly from kits provided can be an option, as PAC may be busy with its production with JF-17s.

The variants of J-10A are two "B"s. The DSI intake J-10B is now being tested with WS-10A on. PLAAF will induct smaller number of this model as well. The other "B" has been developed earlier and is also under testing. These "B"s are all equipped with AESA radars.

The J-10B is a stop gap fighter in China. It has smaller RCS, better avionics, better radars, better weapons and higher thrust engines , compared to J-10A. The J-10Bs for PAF and PLAAF could both use the WS-10A variant or FWS-10F engines with max thrust of 14000kgs (compared to the 12500kg AL-31FN).

I think PAK should prepare plans to jointly develop a 4th G fighter with Chinese SAC exclusively for PAF such as JF-17 project with CAC. It will be more important for PAF than the number or production lines of FC-20s. China has two 4thG projects going on. The prototypes (CAC) are already made for ground tests. We will hear the news of maiden flight later this year.

Well from US prespective who operate the F35 and Raptors J10 may not be a advantagous addition

But from Pakistan point of view its a very capable fighter that can help take lead role in defending airspace

The Avionics suit is bound to be upgraded continouly but it would help
retire some of the older planes in our inventory

Like F-7 the old ones , and the Mirages slowly

TOT is well being able to assemble planes locally learn from the experience

May be also around 2014 the market will be open for 4.5 generation fighter from Europe or US as since India would be done with its purchases etc
