" It's India's right to have Permanent seat at UN Security Council " -PM Modi

I don't want to go into a pointless debate about if Japan has SINCERELY apologised or not, but what I know for sure is that south Korea and China are not making a big fuss about such things for nothing, fact is there are several things some Japaneseright wing officials say about their past war crimes during WWII that if it was in Germany they will be imprisoned/prosecuted, and it negates any past apologies they might have made.Anyway thats another topic.
As for we, France, and U.S being(maybe) reluctant to let Germany (or even India) join, its simply becausecno country wants to dilute their influence and let in another bigger competitor/peer. Its not like we hate Germans, Indians etc, nor is it because we are blaming current Germans for Hitlers actions. Its simply out of self interests as always.

Japan and Germany initiated the war and lost so they had to cede their high seats to the victors, while India wasn't even independent then hence no seat. As I said India is simply sour cuz its not part of it, had India been in P 5 it too will never agree to let others in (most of all its rivals like china, pakistan etc) since it will like to keep its priviledge as well. Lool do you deny this?

Yes I already said the current system of P5 is unfair since things have changed a lot today, but that doesn't mean anything at all to the P5 members, geo politics is not a clean/moral/ fair game, countries will always seek to protect their interests/positions no matter what others might think or say. So India has to accept the current situation and just pray/hope some unforseen event might happen in future which might lead to P5 enlargement, nothing much you can do.

At least this is an honest assessment. And in the same way that you will try to keep your influence, others will try to erode yours. That's the law of nature.

Ok this chappie couldn't comprehend my question much less answer it. Any other indian who can answer my query ?

It's because your a hypocrite, you said India should decide and we did (we abstained) because of that you called us a Russian poodle, why? because you are a arrogant yank who did not like us to make our own judgement.

.
I don't think India deserves to be a permanent member of UN ! What will you guys do there ? You need to take sides and I have hardly seen Indians mustering up the balls and taking sides !

You mean 'why did you not stand with us when we invaded Iraq?'. Taking sides does not mean taking stupid sides.

Pretty crisp answer summarising several key points.

This hillbilly said India should takes sides and we did in abstaining, because of that he said we are a Russian poodle. Yet abstaining does not endorse Russia.

English is a international business language, the fact that we are using it on this pqrform speaks volumes. Europeans learn to speak more than one language, if you visit countries like Czech Republic etc they speak 3 or 4 languages.

ss

More and more multinational companies are mandating English as the common corporate language—Airbus, Daimler-Chrysler, Fast Retailing, Nokia, Renault, Samsung, SAP, Technicolor, and Microsoft in Beijing, to name a few—in an attempt to facilitate communication and performance across geographically diverse functions and business endeavors.

Agree, English is the worlds language. It doesn't matter what other try to say or deny it. In today's world its difficult for an outward looking person, company, country to seek opportunities, jobs, market abroad without a knowledge of English language. Since our language is the most widely spoken language in the world in terms of countries(though not the only one) and used in business world. thats why american/western tech companies dominate the world while Chinese companies find it difficult to grow outside their own country borders(bar in their immediate neighbourhood like Taiwan,Singapore, Hong Kong. ). Its also one of this reason we have the top universities in the world together with the U.S .in fact looking at the classification its a U.S and U.K affair, the rest are wayyy behind. Its also the same reason why my country has so much influence compared to its size/weight.lol yes we still punch way above our weight . hihihihiihihihihihi . language is a very powerful influence/tool. English language has brought the world closer, if not we won't even be here on PDF interacting with each other isn't it? What other language can bring people together like English?:D
Sorry my French brothers @Gabriel92 i know France envies Britain's and Anglo Saxons influence in the world. Though I'm half french, infact is my first/language /mother tongue. But I admire France's strive for independence/difference from the Anglo Saxon influence. Vive la France.:enjoy:

Lets take the example of falkland wars. Now Uncle sam is not involved here. How can India being a Permanent member ad to the value ?

What's the marginal benefit ?

By abstaining yet again along with Russia and China.

I gave you several scenarios where either Uncle Sam has no role or not the major stake holder. Ofc you can't discuss it.

Make a case for it rather than arguing your russian tilt ( which is fine by me ).

WHat is India bringing to the table ?

3. Growing economy soon to be the 3rd largest ? --- OKAY ! What amount of UN expenses are you prepared to take up ?
4. voice of the devolving world/ Backing from Latin American countries, African nations ---- They don't matter in the bigger picture.

India has been the largest troop contributor to UN missions since its inception. :disagree:

Now this arrogant yank is suggesting that African and Latin American countries just do not matter :cheesy: no wonder Latin American countries hate your gringo asses so much (I know first hand as I visited Colombia)

No one is interested in your idea of marginal benefit. But I will still make a case. In the case of the Falklands conflict India would have carried out the most intelligent recourse of mediation. In the end the war was between a bunch of losers. UK- chickenshit power holding on to the Islands, Argentinians whose geographic claim had more validity but were unpopular among the islanders so could not claim it legitimately. Before the British come and declare how they 'won' the war, lemme assure you, the only reason why you won the war was because the ARgentinians ran out of Exocet Missiles. If I were an Argentinian general I would not have even started this adventure before taking the full delivery of Exocet shipmets ( a fatal mistake). Therefore it was highly likely that the UK would have had a lot of egg on its face too. So 'mediation' wuld have been the best route.

India has also been in such situations. We annexed Goa from the Portugese, invaded Hyderabad and helped create Bangladesh. So our experience in these things is quite remarkable.
