What's new

It's gonna be very, very hard to come in: Trump on Pakistani immigrants

Visitors and immigrants from Muslim countries already face the strictest vetting process there is. And of all the Muslim immigrants who have come from Muslim countries, how many have committed an act of terror in US?

Many of the Muslims who do commit act in terrors in US are mostly homegrown, seduced via the internet by ISIS? How is banning Muslims going to stop that.

And what about Muslims who come from non-Muslim countries like UK and hold its passport? Or Canada, which is right over the US border? Hey, it you are a lucky Pakistani to have dual citizenship, your travel to US is made so much easier. How is Trump going to stop them?

It's idiotic. Target specific persons, not a whole race, religion, or country. These actions taken by Trump are just gimmicks that will make no one safer, but will piss off a lot of people.

You're not understanding, neither the wall or the Muslim immigration ban are going to be effective at anything. But they are intended as a big middle finger to hispanics and Muslims by the racist white demographic who voted him to power.

.
Dude he did not took Pakistan name explicitly. It was taken by the person who was taking interview. He would had put Pakistan on the ban list if he really had to. Its too late now @ Indians

India-US love affair will be dented by Trump "Make in America" as many jobs and manufacturing outsourced to India will have to revert back home..China has been able to channel its experiences into home grown industry therefore it is no further dependent on offshoring of manufacturing. Secondly, India will be pressured into balance of trade by buying American....

Trust me they will be very effective...america is solely responsible for its problem by letting them happen at first place...political correctness does not work..! Most of the people who voted trump..are jobless, poor and destitute..and if being a "white racist" puts meal on their table..so be it...! We as human race are constantly engaged in a competition of survival...with resources shirking..and populations expanding...the weak will perish..the strong will survive...it is survival of the fittest...

.
Well trump won't b putting Pakistan in the list to extreme(ban) n I actually doubt about Saudia in the list too

.
That's not true, most Americans do not hold a favorable opinion of Pakistan.

FT_americans-pakistan-trust.png
another data point that the American news media is off track. What the heck is wrong with 13% of them? Of all the 'experts' they should know about Pakistan!

secondly, why is this survey part of a 'US-China Security Perceptions Project'. Interesting

. .
Good shit, the H1B people somehow fly under the radar with anger targeted at poor hispanics. They are the ones who don't integrate and steal jobs from Americans.

Agreed 100%.. They are taking away good middle income jobs from american citizens. Its bad enough many telecommunication companies have moved overseas....Hopefully Trump bans or atleast limits them.

Mexicans in my opinion are unfairly targeted..Mexicans do jobs other people would not while making very little money.. I cant tell you how many desi restaurants/meat shops i know with Mexicans in the back.

yawn indians would have sold their mothers to have pakistan on the list of banned countries but it didn't happen.

i also feel like Indians are expecting too much from Trump, Trumps policies are going to be so far away from Modi Make in india platform he tries to push overtime a foreign diplomat meets him. Trump is going to be put americans jobs and benefits to Americas first.

I'm disgusted by the loathing thrown at poor Hispanics and Muslim refugees by a lot of Indians IRL. They are concerned about their work visas and don't give a damn about the rest of the world. Myself, I'll be going to protest at the airport.

Pakistan Could Be Put On Donald Trump's Immigration Ban List, Says White House

WASHINGTON:
HIGHLIGHTS
  1. Donald Trump has banned immigration from 7 Muslim-majority nations
  2. White House says Pakistan was considered for Trump's immigration ban
  3. Visitors from Pakistan are currently subject to extreme vetting in US
There is a possibility in the future of including Pakistan in the US President Donald Trump's immigration ban list, White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus has indicated, acknowledging for the first time that Pakistan was under consideration to be put in that category of nations. Mr Trump has issued a controversial executive order banning immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries - Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Syria and Somalia.

"The reason we chose those seven countries was, those were the seven countries that both the Congress and the Obama administration identified as being the seven countries that were most identifiable with dangerous terrorism taking place in their country," White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, told CBS News.

"Now, you can point to other countries that have similar problems, like Pakistan and others. Perhaps we need to take it further. But for now, immediate steps, pulling the Band-Aid off, is to do further vetting for people traveling in and out of those countries," Mr Priebus said.

This is for the first time that the Trump Administration has publicly acknowledged about considering putting Pakistan into that list.

Currently as per the executive order, visitors from countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan are subject to extreme vetting.

Mr Priebus said the executive orders were signed after a lot of planning.

Donald Trump's ban on immigration from 7 natons has led to widespread protest.

"We're not going to advertise to the world that we're going to put a stop or at least a further vetting on travel in and out of our country from these seven places," he said.

"Some people have suggested, that, well, maybe we should have given everyone a three-day warning. But that would just mean that a terrorist would just move up their travel plans by three days.

Identifying too many people in these countries and giving them a heads-up in these countries would only potentially flag the executive order for bad order," Priebus said.

"The President has a call with leadership in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and other countries around world. I'm sure this topic may come up," he said.

Mr Priebus asserted that Americans have to be protected first.

"These are countries that harbour and train terrorists. These are countries that we want to know who is coming and going in and out of to prevent calamities from happening in this country," he said.

"We're not willing to be wrong on this subject. President Trump is not willing to take chances on this subject. He was elected president in many respects because people knew that he was going to be tough on immigration from countries that harbour terrorists," Mr Priebus said.

"I can't imagine too many people out there watching this right now think it's unreasonable to ask a few more questions from someone traveling in and out of Libya and Yemen before being let loose in the United States. And that's all this is," he said.

WASHINGTON: In a recent interview, President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, said that 'It's going to be very hard to come in' for immigrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, countries which did not make the list of the seven whose immigrants were banned by Trump.

When interviewer David Muir asked Donald Trump about Pakistan, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, the three countries not included in the list of seven states who were suspended from adopting a US visa by the president's executive order, Trump stated that there would be 'extreme vetting' in their case.

"You're going to see -- you're going to see. We're going to have extreme vetting in all cases. And I mean extreme. And we're not letting people in if we think there's even a little chance of some problem," said Trump. "We are excluding certain countries. But for other countries we're gonna have extreme vetting. It's going to be very hard to come in. Right now it's very easy to come in. It's gonna be very, very hard. I don't want terror in this country," he added.

Trump cited the examples of the San Bernardino shooting as well as the World Trade Center to justify the need for 'extreme vetting' in states excluded from the list, which also also includes Pakistan.

When the interviewer asked Trump whether or not he was afraid the move to ban refugees and suspend visas to the seven nations would trigger anger among Muslims across the world, the American president stated that there was plenty of anger among Muslims in the world due to the invasion of Iraq and the strife in Mosul, Aleppo.

"The world is a mess. The world is as angry as it gets. What? You think this is gonna cause a little more anger? The world is an angry place. All of this has happened. We went into Iraq. We shouldn't have gone into Iraq. We shouldn't have gotten out the way we got out," he said.

"The world is a total mess. Take a look at what's happening with Aleppo. Take a look what's happening in Mosul. Take a look what's going on in the Middle East. And people are fleeing and they're going into Europe and all over the place. The world is a mess, David."

During the interview, he also spoke on how the Americans should have taken the oil from Iraq in order to prevent it from ending up in the hands of the ISIS. He also stated that the American people would have to pay for the wall to be built on the border with Mexico and the Mexican government will reimburse 'in some form' later to the USA the cost of building the wall.

The H1-B will be restricted soon. Indians won't be able to come to America base on their call center training.

You missed my point completely. If we don't want to admit refugees from certain countries as a policy fine, but we're talking about people who have homes here, they have greencards, pay mortgages and in some cases have married non Muslim Americans.

What if they come for Jews next?

Trump will go after more people. This is just the beginning. He had gone after Muslims and Mexicans. He will go after Indians and Chinese next. He might even revoke immigrant citizens.

I don't know for sure bro, he was promising it during elections but recently he said he had a change of heart and he also met people from Silicon Valley and H1B lobbyists. Let's wait and see.
