History is a very good thing to learn from, it tells you a lot about raw human nature, how the world works, and breaks a lot of modern-day myths propogated by neo-liberals and virtue signallers.

But it's important we look at things contextually and also factor in the changing world in terms of evolving technology and it's role in governance and military matters.

While once being brutally aggressive and motivated to conquer was largely a metric for success, today there is a lesser focus on it as technology has influenced a huge part on power projection. Not to say your aggression and morale is not important, it definitely is but it has a lesser focus.

The leaders of today's world are more contingent on their capacity for technological advancement.
