Sir india dont believe in having one defence systems. india believes in having 3 layers of it. Even with anti-missile system india gave a thought of having patriotic defence system and Our AAD defence system together but the cost would be out of control. Our sciencetists claimed AAD Superior to patriotic. i think two test already done and it was more accurate and range vs patriotic. So our goverment waiting 2012. If our AAD ready then we induct and if not then patriotic would be inducted. Thats the deal between indian sciencetists and indian goverment sir.

This claim is not about AAD but this is about Akash,according to our scientist:

This system is claimed to be more accurate than the MIM-104 Patriot as it has thrust during the entire course of its flight compared to the Patriot that has thrust only for the first 12 seconds, after which the missile coasts, thus making it less accurate.

Akash range is also similar to patriot :25-30km

but there might be lots of pro nad con in the akash which make this system delayed earlier,now IAF order 2 sq. and more expected in future.

And Also from the damn IA...

spyder is for close range Aero-defence.....(1-15KM).

Akash IS HAVING a range of 25-30 km and thts why it is not finding any takers( as far as Indian Armed forces are concerned).. coz IA has already made clear tht it must have atleast range of 40km.. but 50km is good and appreciable....they already have option of buying this from abroad.. with Min. range of 60km..... as far as DRDO is concerned... they said tht they improve the existing 25km version to 50km by the name Akash MK2... but till then the chances of seeing akash are very bleak.... also Army don't want Rajendra Radar system with it.

If F 16 is on closer range, Spyder can shot Derby missile, and turn off the radar. Derby will destroy F 16, and anti radar missile from F 16 can't do anything.

On longer range, Derby will have to reach to point where it can guide itself. Than Spyder will turn off radar and it will be same case as paragraph before.

There is reason why F 35 is replacing F 16.

Mam in that case F-16 dont have much chance in indian sky. India have S-300 defence system allready and working on new SAM which would be superior to S-300. Israel too wants india for JV. they want to build SAM which are same as S-400 level. India way too much into Defence system as india a defender country. When india trys to make offensive weapons we fails but india far ahead in making defensive weapons like AAD anti-missile system which believed to be superior to patriotic-3 that america wants india to buy in cost around 8 billion dollars. India said our AAD would be ready by 2012. So mam india already has S-300 and if S-300 SAM superior that SPYDER SAM than its not good news for F-16 mam.

india has a limited number of S-300 batteries. i do not think we can protect our airspace with only s-300s.

Sir i think india has S-300 SAM from russia already. S-300 was build same time when F-22 raptor was being build but F-22 got delayed. Russian's claim S-300 more than enough to drop F-22 raptor. Now russia have S-400. So sir if S-300 can drop F-22 raptor then why not F-16? While it believed that SPYDER SAM better than S-300 SAM. So SPYDER SAM more then capable to drop F-16 sir.

India Has S300 PMU equivalent to S400. It is a real terror for anything which flys.
