my word, the world has come full circle, who would have thought that after indians spent most of the 20th century being anti-colonial they have adopted the mindset of their old masters..........seems like the west always wins.

Don't put words in my mouth. I clearly stated that Israel is psychotic. Unlike Pakistan, which conveniently imported and used Israeli weapons against the Soviets and were part of CENTO when CENTO cronies were calling Yaseer Arafat a terrorist - India has always been steadfast in its support for a Palestinian state.

I humbly disagree.

There were horrible wrongs committed against the Jews and they deserve protection and compensation. However, this cannot be at the cost of a third party not involved in any of these crimes. Our support for the suffering Palestinians, and our opposition to the settlers deliberately building settlements in unauthorised areas, to legitimise a future annexation. However much an ally Israel may be, we should not give up our moral, principled stand. Abandoning one's morality for material benefits is complete ethical bankruptcy.

May I add that suffering of Palestinians is primarily due to Arab League.

Israeli occupation has been decried throughout the muslim world ... No one raised their voice when jordan seized westbank.. or egypt took gaza

this entire occupation business was started by the arab league.. Israel is just paying back with interest..

Palestinian cause is backed by Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria, Jordan, Egypt ......same countries do not want a resolution to the conflict ... if the conflict ends peacefully... then no more reasons to fight against "evil" israel...

No matter what solution Israel offers .. it will never be accepted... Israel might have already given up on finding a solution ...


about reorienting policy towards Palestine:

It's israel's conflict...let them and Palestinians people deal with it, we dont need to side with either of them for the matter. If one of the third parties comes to conflict .. we should extend full military support.
