So, if they are there to prevent that, why are they leaving: there has been very limited capacity building of Afghans, as yet, the Taliban, still, have a lot of clout. Occupation never solves problems, they should have let Taliban extradiate OBL, tried him in court & sent a message that see he did wrong, we got him. Mind ur own business, and we mind ours. Further, they could have spent the trillions of dollars on homeland security.
The Taliban refused to hand over OBL to the Americans - fact. If they did go by with what you are saying, they would have done so already 10 years ago. And none of this nonsense would have taken place anyways.
I agree, occupations do not solve anything. The key mistake the Americans made was that they ignored Afghanistan, and allowed to rot in civil war.
It's logical that it would have been better spent on Homeland Security, but they thought since Afghanistan was in the stone ages, it would be cheap and easy. Aaaannd...they were wrong!
And of-course there was Iraq which was a complete disaster.
And Pakistan can do very well without America's concerns. TTP is a CIA offshoot, my father has served in ISI & I know this very well. Twice in 2007, we pinpointed the location of Mehsud to CIA & both the times they helped evacuate him, instead of sending in a drone. We also know what for Mr Davis was here. We also know why US does not let us fence the Pak-Afg border.
What! Seriously? Well, I have suspected something fishy about some US elements in Afghanistan. I mean, Afghanistan is the world's largest exporter of heroin. I am pretty sure that those drug operations aren't managed by a bunch of illiterate villagers. Yep, there is something fishy.
Pakistan should try its best to secure a strong foothold on itself, even if that means taking out those mysterious foreign elements.
The last war was lost by Israelis, please. And the root cause of extremism has been oppression. The day Palestine, Kashmir & oppression elsewhere ceases, we will know peace, atleast brighter than today.
Whatever strange plans some lunatics in The Knesset had for Lebanon, it failed - end of story. Israel can never go in and occupy neighboring Arab countries, it's impossible - a pipe dream!
But main point is that whatever strange plans some gringos are planning, Muslims should stand firm according to their national interests. And yes, patriotism is important. Whoever Pakistanis are collaborating with those foreign elements, they should be tried for treason.
Conclusion:
Extremists always prey on insecurity among masses. The key to success is to beat the terrorists in their own game: Address their insecurities, sentiments and frustration! Rob extremists off the very ground, they stand on.
That's the long term & conclusive solution...
Hopefully the Allies understand that, other than going into full-fledged wars!
