Israel and Turkey attacked Syria not long after Russia claimed they will shoot down anyone that will attack Assad, and Israel did it at least a dozen times.

The US launched 59 Tomahawks against a major Syrian airfield and Russia did nothing, probably couldn't even detect them.

It's not hard to hit a 2 generations old "stealth" aircraft with its weapons bay open in a predictable bombing run.

Which also had no radar warning system.

Dude Russia did not "want" to stop them. That was just Trump's moment of trying to show off his allegiance and anti Russia stance. And Russian's were informed already.

Do not take Russian's being careful for not escalating a conflict which Israel and US have been so itching for to get a WWIII started as a weakness. Putin is smart, not stupid like Trump and whichever mojo is sitting on top of Israel these days...

I don't see the Israelis shooting down Russian transport aircraft loaded with weapons that will end up in Hezbollah hands. This must mean Israeli can't detect and shoot down those Russian aircraft.

Hundreds of aircraft, including dozens of Israeli aircrafts have been shot down by Soviet SAMs. Israeli aircrafts are easily detected. There is a reason Israeli F-16 were filmed flying low at night breaking the sound barrier before they hit targets in Syria.

Russia could have easily retaliated against Turkey for the shooting down of the SU-24 but didn't because the Russian air base in Syria would eventually be destroyed due to its close proximity to Turkey. The situation is the same regarding Israel.

Month ago on 7 th Sept Israel jets bombed Assad chemical weapon facility in Madaya, which was located just 12 km away from S-400:
