good step.. states should not endorse any religion... bd will still remain muslim majority country... and you are free to practice your own religion, but it will give some ownership to minorities towards their motherland.
If I am a bd hindu why would I be patriotic towards an islamic republic? even if its only on paper and I am treated equally on street, it will still be upsetting.

BD is not an islamic republic. State religion Islam means majority priority on the behalf of population. BD is not a caliphate state too. U r talking about spiritual islam . i am talking about political islam. In islamic ruling system non-muslims are more then secure then these type of hippocrate democratic system. By the way - In BD we never think- non- muslims are minority, democracy made this word majority to minority . Non-muslims will do their job. Who will deny that ?
