ISIS terrorists ambush and behead 10 Taliban fighters

That's how they operate. .al shabaab, boko aligned with the Daesh. ..a number of factions in Af Pak have aligned themselves with IS too.

But they can't succeed.. Atleast in Pak .. Which has solid state institutions and a real society unlike the divided and torn social fabric and no working state institutions like military in Iraq,Syria or even Afghanistan..

Even in Afghanistan it will be difficult for IS to survive given the support (yes it's a reality) the taliban enjoy....

Few weeks ago there was news of shia hazaras siding with Taliban to keep IS away...

Of course. .This is about isis presence in Afghanistan. But bordering countries will have problems because of it.

Taliban are fierce fighters no doubt...but seeing what they did to FSA and it's factions in Syria. .turned the tables on Islamist groups in Libya and continuously gaining ground in Libya. .what they did to the iraqi army, one can assume that they are bad news...

What would happen is that taliban - similar to FSA in syria or Libyan rebels will gain territory in Afghanistan and isis will move in.

FSA is dead..so are the tribal sunni militia of Iraq, he Libya rebels have turned into isis in their thousands. Yemen most likely would be next where qaeda is gaining ground and not long before isis moves in. It all boils down to isis strategy.

The taliban are tough mofos.. If talibs and IS were pitched against eachother one to one.. The talibs will succeed.. Reason being that these people are physically tougher and have been waging war since decades .. First against Soviets than against Iranian,US backed northern Alliance and now NATO and afghan forces...

The success of IS can be contributed to the collapse of the iraqi and Syrian govts.. The massive divide and discontent between the communities... A non functional military put together hastily by Americans who realised the important but much later after disbanding the iraqi military which now commands IS ... The sunni tribals also joined them and so on...

Where ever ISIS has faced proper organized force they have failed and its only way to counter ISIS dumbos.

. . .
Not sure if this is really something to be entertained by. The Taliban is bad but, I'd say ISIS is worse. Because the Taliban is more focused on their own country while ISIS wants to spread as far as Spain through India.

It will be a turf war at its bloodiest..Americans have significant presence in Afghanistan..and till they are there..Daesh will most likely not make any major movement. Daesh will most likely draw out recruits from the Taliban factions, and in some cases make alliances with breakaway one's. It's the question of gaining a foothold and the brutality they unleash will drive afghan people into neighboring countries..so will the taliban tribes...Some will withstand some will fall some will join.Net result is that Afghanistan will once again be a battleground for a major turf war that will go on for years.

As you said...nato and America has significantly weakened afghanistan similar to what they did in Iraq and Libya. ..and now yemen. Typical breeding ground for Daesh to make its move....and this is extensively reported and analysed by all major intelligence agencies.

Pakistan does have its weakness which can be utilised by Daesh....not saying that they will be successful.
