Is There Still Genuine Hope From Imran Khan?

IK has already bagged a "military" win!!! The political win is the next to come!!! By the by, he has just dismissed his FM who happened to be his long term lieutenant!!! Looks like he's taking the reign of the Deep State* too!!! The traits of the statesman are settling in him...

*Only a couple of Muslim countries have a Deep State for they have a Deep Nation. All others are ruled by proxies (the best case) or traitors (the usual case) for these are artificial states created by the Western Imperialists to begin with
Sir we have a lot of respect for you please dont indulge yourself in Pakistani Politics. Many Thanks

Everyday i come across dozens of anti Imran clips on the social media. Feel tempted to post them here but feel pity for the kids that follow him. Most of the times patience works wonders. See how the pack of cards is unfolding.

I am not anti Imran . I believe that he is just like any other average politician in Pakistan and yes I agree with you that we should give PTI 5 or 10 years so that hardcore pti supporters get land in real world from imaginary world of naya Pakistan..

This is a third party "naïve personal" observation from a friendly folk who has been keenly observing Pak, via internet news of course, for more than a couple of decades...

As for indulging in Pak politics, it's definitely not my intention and way beyond the scope...

I have no "material" relationship with Pak, only "spiritual"....

His focus is to punish Nawaz sharif.his indian situation handling was average.his ministers are corrupt and I haven't seen any changes.only change is hikes in prices and moving towards bankruptcy.they aren't good signs for any government.right now common people suffering.i don't think that they can control price hikes.only hope is kekra 1 oil drilling.there is no hope.there is no change.system is too corrupt.

Its been less than 1 year for a PM who has never been in such an office before. Lower your expectations and then things will start falling into place. Every single thing is relative. Is the economy better or worse? Well in certain things its better, in others its challenged.

Pakistan requires sustainable, long term policies. Not the policies of those trying to win votes. I was never a PTI or IK supporter. I used to be one of those who questioned his policies even regarding the Taliban etc. But like everyone else, experiences and age changes one. IK is no different. He is learning and if certified corruption kings like Zardari and Sharifs can be given multiple changes (through direct or proxy rule), this chap, IK, deserves a full 5 years to rule Pakistan and even after that, another 5. His person is not corrupt and to end endemic culture of corruption in Pakistan, that in itself is a massive, massive change.

I am also a firm believer that Pakistan's economy is on the mend. It will take time and that is unfortunately something that our people aren't too patient about. But what's been broken over 6 decades will take more than 5 years to get better.

The outlook has to be positive, the sentiment has to be optimistic. Just these two things have changed the destinies of nations. Give him a chance. That is the least that we owe a decent, honest human specially given we have taken shit for far, far too long from far more corrupt and dishonest politicians in the past.

Did not Asad umar deserved 5 year as well before you actually judge his economic performance?
No, Asad Umar served at the discretion of the PM who in turn was given 5 years by this nation! Asad Umar can advise the government and IK in a personal capacity but he has taken the hit for the economy not turning around quickly enough. If he is a PTI and IK stalwart, he will need to serve in a different capacity.

Very embarrassed and ashamed the way he represented Pakistan in press conference with Irani Pres.

Why so? Somebody taking time to know Pakistan politics and affairs and comments on it positively! Why you object?
@Hakikat ve Hikmet , plz ignore him.

Economic miracle of china took 25 years while it was visible within 3-5 years
If you have visible signs of improvement in parameters like savings, investment , ease of doing business, deficits and ultimately GDP growth than yes ..otherwise no..we will know by 2022-23
China's was an institutional thing. Founder of openness was Deng, who himself came from ranks so have both knowledge and skills, then rest followed. Now President Xi taking to new heights.

Pakistanis are just fickle people. Give the man 5 years. Especially if you can give 30 years to proven criminals and thieves. Whats wrong with u ppl.
Looking for an Erdogan like...
But every situation is different, so let's see.

Can you tell me about failures of Asad umar as a finance minister ? PTI was telling opposition that it take some time for economic indicator or policies to be visible after opposition left economy in mess yet they concluded in 9 months that Asada Umar is not performing in finance ministry and they replaced him with someone who served in previous corrupt government whom economic policies they were criticising .. Asad umar was only trying to implement the economic policy of prime minister because IK did not wanted to go to IMF and wanted to avoid it. If asad umar was failure then we can say that Imran has no capacity to appoint right candidate for right job

Absolutely 100%. The expectations are sky high, the challenges even hire - our problems will take decades of sincere governance to resolve, not mere months.

The silver lining under this cloud of criticism and micro analysis of every sentence is this; clearly PTI has given us expectations of government. I've not had expectations from government since the early days of the Musharaf era.

PTI will not promise everything it promised and it certainly won't deliver everything we want, or even need. However I'm certain in 5 years time when people go to the ballot they'll vote PTI again, because I expect them to deliver enough for people to see that the talk is real.

PTI won this election as the least worst option. The challenge for PTI is to go into the next election in the minds of people as the right choice, not the only choice.

I don't believe in this rhetoric of "last hope", I have been listening to this last hope since my childhood, once upon a time in 80s Zia ul Haq was the last hope, then in 90s nawaz sharif was the last hope, then in 2000s musharraf was the last hope and these days imran khan is the last hope. Nothing will happen to pakistan and there is no such thing as last hope in pakistan, pakistani establishment always has plan B or plan C in place at all times.

Establishement tried Musharaf, then PPP then PMLN and now Imran, with every try economy is going down and down...I remember exports at 32 billion to now 18 billion....there is a limit of trying before you reach the bottom....I think this time around establishment is at plan y....and hence the last hope....unless we ask British to add few more letter in their alphabets.

You are right, simply because there is no alternative left. If PMIK cannot deliver on his promises in five years, then no one can. Let us see what unfolds during the remainder of his term.
