Is patriotism in India and Pakistan defined by hate for each other??

You are correct to the extent that socialism is not the ideology in many of today's Indian youth, and the leftist youth of say, the JNU ( Jawaharlal Nehru University - Delhi ), find the going hard.
Ya we should go back to socialism with 3% growth rate and extreme poverty, long lines for ration and licence raj, 3-4 month wait to get one telephone connection, profit being a bad word, 90% income tax and many other glorious marks of socialism.

BTW JNU has youth? I thought they spent 10-15 years "studying" while actually doing nothing but freeloading on taxpayers money and shouting "Bharat tere tukde honge, inshaallah"

This is not the thread to discuss that waste of space JNU but if you want to have a discussion I can open another thread to discuss it

Well, the Dalai Lama, who lives in India, recently got into a controversy by stating that the Partition happened because of the ego of Nehru who refused to allow Jinnah to become the prime minister of ( united ) India. The Dalai Lama also said that Jinnah was Gandhi's first choice.

The Dalai Lama had to apologize for his statement, but I think he is partially true. I believe both Nehru and Jinnah was egotistical and stubborn.

A man in exile is nobody to comment on someone who stood his ground and believed in his struggle.

Jinnah was a man of principles, a man with a vision, a man with a clear goal. You can call him egotistical, but many thank him today.

By the way, Godse ( Gandhi's assassin ) was a member of RSS and Hindu Mahasabha. Both are right-wing organizations which hated Gandhi.

Have you seen TTP often appear on TV and threaten Hindus and Hindustan, or make public speeches to a gathering of hundreds, or make hue and cry on everything related to india? Or have they passed a fatwa to rape dead Hindu women? We are talking about TTP who have killed thousands, but yet they could not say the stuff your hate filled people said or say about Pakistan, Muslims and Islam.

Allow me to talk of this point at a later date.

Sure take your time. No problems.

Since when is Pakistan part of a "Greater Middle East"?? :o:

Why will Israelis live under Palestinian rule??

A proper solution to the Israel-Palestine issue is a single country called Isratin, which was proposed by Muammar Gaddafi in his document called The White Book.

I didn't understand your point.

Socialism was the fashion in India until the late 80's. You can sense it in the 2003 Hiindi film 'Hazaaron khwaishen aisi'.

I suppose these things go in a cycle.

Pakistan came close to true socialist governance during the attempted coup d'etat in 1951 called the "Rawalpindi conspiracy".

The South Indian ( Kannada ) actress, Ramya aka Divya Spandana, had this to say after her visit to Pakistan.

Who cares?
Some Keralites also went in Karachi during partition and until 70s.
Who cares .
They are just a neighbour like any other neighbour
