Pakistan's two nuclear cruise Missiles , the Babur - 2 and Ra'ad have been recently test fired in "Land to sea" mode.
Does that make Pakistan capable of blowing a whole fleet out of the water with nuclear weapon?
If that's correct then Pakistan might be the only country in the world with deployed Nuclear anti ship missiles?

Discuss away and present your well researched arguments plz.

I don't think the test was to target moving ships or fleets with the Babur or Raad.

Thats the thing. Then what else is out at sea which they wanted to hit and tested both Cruise missiles with Land to sea and air to sea capability?

I think the test was launched FROM the sea to a target on LAND. Maybe I'm wrong but I have not heard of any test where a RAAD or a BABUR was launched AT a target on sea.

ISPR press release for Babur-II test had these wordings.

The cruise missile incorporates advanced aerodynamics and avionics and can strike targets on both land and sea at a range of 700 kilometres, added the ISPR statement.

Oh...I stand corrected, I guess your right. And if l that's the case then bye bye to whoever's fleet is stupid enough to come against us. :pakistan:

launching from sea doesnt mean it has to only target object at sea, beside I doubt any of those two missiles tested are capable of targeting moving targets but the stationary targets at land.

I posted a Quote from ISPR press release above. It suggested otherwise.
Thats the thing being widely ignored by our defence enthusiasts.
Have a good look above.

About Raad the press releases have been a bit confusing.

"The missile provides Pakistani armed forces with “Strategic Standoff Capability on land and at sea”.

But in Babur-II case the press release clearly mentions "targets at sea".
If thats the case the Babur becomes Pakistan's longest range anti ship missile?

I think we are talking about stationary targets in the sea or super slow moving like say an Aircraft Carrier...
If it was capable of engaging mobile targets then either they would have mentioned or they want to keep that under the wraps for now...

We do know Pakistan reverse engineered the Harpoons before though and even the Americans were crying so might as well be the case...

They can absolutely target moving objects at sea, thats basic if you want a sea attack capability. (Most ships don't move faster than a car in third gear).

ispr press release tells it can target both land and sea target if that true means Pakistan have develop the seeker need to target moving target.
The latest variant (Tomahawk Block IV) includes a two-way satellite data-link that enables the missile to be retargeted in flight to preprogrammed, alternate targets. The Block IV design was initiated as both a cost savings and a capability improvement effort.

Raytheon and the U.S. Navy are now enhancing this already sophisticated weapon. Planned upgrades to the Tomahawk Block IV include: upgraded communications, a more powerful warhead, and a new seeker designed to hit moving targets at sea or on land in darkness and all kinds of weather. The multi-mode seeker test is scheduled for later this year.

An AC is a huge moving target that will require a lot of fire power to be sunk. Chinese have demonstrated similar capability with their DF-21D series ballistic missiles which are meant to take out large US carriers. Imagine the same scenario but instead of a ballistic missile its a cruise missile that can be used in similar manner. Remember a cruise missile can always be given a mid course correction and hence even when the carrier is moving, it can be hit. @The Deterrent Your thoughts sir

Pakistan is far from operationalising the Babur.
It has been tested only once and it will require at least 3 more tests before operational.

Even with DF-21 its still hard to hit moving AC

Experts douted it because you need robUST surveillance and satellite network centric environment to specify and locate moving target into sea

At over 30- 40Knots AC still very impossible target target by a ballistic missile

I think Babur anti ship version will be more effective means but you need wide sea surveillance coverage with satellite network to improve your chances of hitting the target

And taking a CBG group is not piece of cake
