Is Bangladesh Awami League on its deathbed?: Dr. Zahedur Rahman

@Bilal9

Bilal bhai,

It is bhakts under Sylheti false-flagger guise I think. Trying to divide us.

Debatable. Most bhakts wouldnt even know that there is an ethnic group called "Sylhetis"

I am aware of some British-Bangladeshis have a thing against folks from Dhaka. I really don't get it why.
I would like to think it should be more than your ability to take a direct trip from London to Sylhet.
It would be a real tragic that with this famous British education one cannot think beyond a trip.

You'd think these are people with a huge chip on their shoulder with regional attitudes. But more likely they are Assamese or other Indians (maybe from Tripura or WB even) that are false-flagging and acting as agent-provocateurs.

The more division they can sow in Bangladesh, the more they can gain. They can do it from the safety of their living room, and does not cost them more than pennies. A kanjoosi dream.

To be honest…it peaked during the rule of Ershad…

Military was at its most powerful then…

And controlled Birman and Airports.

It was military’s cash machine at the expense of Sylhetis.

Several severely beaten and at least two deaths…that I know of..

My elderly family members tell horror stories at Dhaka airport by military men. And being robbed off watches, cameras, pressure cookers…

Suitcases regularly cut before being loaded onto belt…

Treated like dirt by Biman officials..

Mocking Sylheti dialect…

Everyone took £50 in cash as military would not accept taka…Bribes..

Etc etc

I heard about folks make fun of Sylheti dialect, it is unfortunate but it happens. I don't understand Sylheti dialect well, but I do not make fun of it.
Everyone from ME flights gets harassed by customs and immigration, even to this very day.
Wonder why immigration Kiosks at Dhaka airport stopped working almost right after they were introduced ? I'm not blaming Hasina for this one but that's just how things are in Bangladesh.
Being devisive doesn't help a whole lot in an international forum.

Since Hasina became PM - airport has been freed off military.

So things are a thousand times better.

People are no longer relieved of their shiny possessions.

Which is why she is so popular amongst the British Bangladeshi community

Sylhetis are not an ethnic group in BD. Some of them have money because many live and work in London. And they have started thinking they are very special with a separate ethnicity.

Were they sent from paradise to become a separate ethnic group? Sylhet is just a district that always belonged to Bengal. The British govt cut it from Bengal and joined it with Assam in 1874 for its easy administration.

This thread is all about the death knell of Awami League. That Sylheti guy is trying to derail it by talking about Sylhet.

We must get back to the thread. BAL party has ruined itself. It was the same in the 1970s. This party is full of thieves and imposters.

One American Assistant Secretary is in Dhaka. He/she is meeting a few political leaders. Hasina cannot hold an election with her party in power. A solution to the stalemate requires the formation of an election-time Caretaker govt.

Uncle Sam cannot even conduct free elections itself 🤣

But Mistri bhai thinks they can hold one in BD 🤣🤣🤣

AL WILL hold an election.

But it will be US style where the popular vote loser wins the election.

Where did you get this idea that British BDs like hasina? Why are there protests outside embassy everytime she turns up?

I am a British BD and i personally know both the BAL and BNP leadership living here. Most BD has only passing interest in BD politics. For us it is irrelevant the policy position of both parties are exactly the same.

Are you aware that Tulip and Tariq zia are friends and attend each others social gatherings?

By the way which russel group uni do you hail from?

Like I said, how are my Sylheti brothers and sisters any different than I am ?

I have hundreds in my own extended family and more as my friends.

If there is any back-dated regionalism - that is pretty minor.

If Indians truly picked this topic to divide us, that is pretty lame as well.

We have all seen how badly Karimganj folks and Assamese Muslims get treated in Assam - this subject is a non-starter.

No Sylheti I know talks like this. I know hundreds of them and they are all educated and happy as leaders of Bangladesh society. Some are related to me by marriage relations (rishta).

Most of them will laugh if I bring up this deluded Sylheti/non-Sylheti talk. Most lame thing I ever heard of.
The heinous @BananaRepublicUK Must be a Bhakt. All his posts are garnish. He intentionally derails many threads by talking about unrelated things.

This thread has also been hijacked by this Indian Bhakt.
