Like I said, how are my Sylheti brothers and sisters any different than I am ?
I have hundreds in my own extended family and more as my friends.
If there is any back-dated regionalism - that is pretty minor.
If Indians truly picked this topic to divide us, that is pretty lame as well.
We have all seen how badly Karimganj folks and Assamese Muslims get treated in Assam - this subject is a non-starter.
Unfortunately, the Great @Protestagain will not like the Sylhetis to cross the border and settle in Assam a land of old-time Chinese settlers since the 1050s.For deluded (mostly uneducated) Sylhetis who may hate Bangladesh, they are most welcome to cross the border and become Assamese citizens and experience all the "perks" that may come with it. Ethnic hate and CAA is just the start.
