Ecology cannot be taken out into the equation. It is the study of how living things affect one another and themselves. The countries with the best living standards have small populations.
Germany & Japan are rare exceptions but even these countries have economic models that can easily be disrupted. What's more their industrialization had minimal affect on their environment.
Nordic countries, Gulf Arab states, New Zealand etc. all have great quality of life because of their small populations and that is because their climates keep them small.
"For the last 50 years we are solely supporting Indias development" - you're joking right?
You yourself have touted BD HDI, life expectancy, BD GDP pp - all better than India. Now you say it was all to India's benefit?? At some point hatred must be backed with logic too.
And talking about nails, nuts and bolt manufacture - we would need to import raw materials. The cost vs benefit doesn't make sense when India or China sells it dirt cheap - again you want BD to cut its own nose to prove what? That we don't have to buy from India??
Saying Pakistan and BD have been separate for 50 years is like saying BD and India have been separate for 65 years - doesn't mean the story is over.
BNP provided direct access to arms and intelligence from Pakistan - so a Bangladeshi has the right to discuss the Pakistani ideology.
This myth about BD intellectuals is another joke. Everyone is a technocrat in opposition but when they get power suddenly they are incompetent. And educated doesn't mean honest - don't assume a professor or an internet blogger is some kind of Messiah.
All BD needs is stability and that's why I think the status quo should remain as long as possible.
You may dislike India. But, people should like India is developing with its own manpower and engineering. Hundreds of billions of dollars worth of investment money are pouring into India, and also in Indonesia, and Vietnam.
India and Indonesia both are G-20 members. BD may join another G-200 group as it is so underdeveloped. We should not waste our time by talking ill against India just because it is a Hindu country. Indian engineers, doctors, and bureaucrats are much more efficient than ours.
We should better learn from the Indian (read Hindu) experiences they gained while the British were here and we wasted those 20 decades on prayer mats. This is what we still do instead of educating ourselves.
What good do you think we can get just by bashing India?
Nordic countries, NZ are rich because of the security offered by their larger neighbors - Australia in case of NZ, Germany/France/UK/Italy. It is hard to see those countries as rich without the security aspect.
All the major industrial powers (USA, Japan, Germany and now China) have huge populations with low per capita natural resources (USA is a partial exception here)
Look at Brazil, Indonesia -- They have large populations with above average natural resources. there is little need to industrialize

@waz, @WebMaster, @Areesh bhais take a look. Bhakts tagging other bhakts again - in every Bangladeshi thread possible.
These people dare not try it in Pakistani threads - now they are here in our Bangladeshi section.
I can see that you will remain in your entrenched beliefs.
You seem to be convinced that AL is the only provider of stability. No one else in Bangladesh is.
You may have your reasons. Pardon me for not sharing in your rosy outlook about Hasina and her competency.
ISI is "alleged" to have caused problems in the NE of India - that is a foreign country.
What do you say to the fact that Indians armed the Shanti-Bahini and still do? That affects us directly - the stability of our country. Indian govt. is complicit in this. How is Hasina handling this "instability" offered by India, for no reason ??
Would it be too much of a stretch to say that you seem to favor only the Indian side of the narrative and not ours, much less Pakistan's ?
Why would you shill for India and not for the flag you seem to display ?
Why should we always support the Indian economy - to the tune of $45 to $50 Billion a year? While we export only $1 or $2 Billion to them?
Why this unequal trade relationship ?? What logic dictates this ? Humble Pie kheyei jete hobey shara jibon ?
India'r shathey uchit relationship er kotha tul-lei Indian fifth columnist der gaye chulkani uthey jai.
Ghuspetia ar termites boley gali dibey, border e iccha moto guli korey marbey, er kono bichar nai?
I am not bashing India or disliking it.
Simply pointing out the inequality of our mutual trade relationship.
This shows their selfishness and which we are aiding and abetting. And encouraging for fifty plus years. Our chamcha leader's fault, not their's.
But enough is enough, Time for India-friendly trade policy to stop and increase tariff on Indian imports.
India has done great in being self-dependent on industrial sectors.
Time for Bangladesh to pursue a better self-dependent industrialization program like India instead of relying on Indian imports.
We should start by applying heavy tariffs on all value added manufactured goods coming from India, especially FMCG (Fast-moving_consumer_goods) products.

He exposed your contradictions.
You boast about BD’s progress compared to India then claim BD is being used to enrich India
That’s BNP logic 1:1 that scares the shit out of sane people.
We don’t want to go back to BNP rule!
Terrorism will be back. Mullahgiri will be in full flow. BD will just become a poorer version of Pakistan. Just to satisfy your unhinged hatred of India.
I have not read the link you sent because I am familiar with what Lee Kuan did and also I know a little about how he initiated to develop a few fishing villages to like a European country.@bluesky bhai, eita ektu poren.
How Lee Kuan Yew transformed Singapore

Please note that most of the developed countries including Japan lack natural resources. But, they have the processing technologies to convert the natural resources to make finished or semi-finished goods that enlarge their GDP, people have employment with a good salary and they spend a lot.All the major industrial powers (USA, Japan, Germany and now China) have huge populations with low per capita natural resources (USA is a partial exception here)

If you are an authoritarian country you would look for a similar model. Singapore and S. Korea back in the developing days were authoritarian in nature.Other than the fact both are Chinese. I see no commonality.
What do you think is the Singapore model ? Do you know the population of Singapore ? Do you know the origin of military hardware of Singapore armed forces ?

Once again you question peoples nationality if they don't hold your view. It's a bad habit.
In fact your entire view of BD is coloured by India - do you realise on every BD subject you are obsessed with India? Its paranoia. Even @bluesky has pointed that out.
I have zero feelings for India or Pakistan - but you like to frame international relationships as friends / enemies, which is silly. Everyone is looking out for themselves.
Uchit relationship? Again these are meaningless words. BD / India trade is natural and historical and its a game to see who can benefit more. I am confident that BD will edge closer over time but isn't complicated to see why a country surrounding us, with much more capacity and raw materials will export more to us than we to them.
I don't have a rosy outlook about Hasina - I just understand that every party in BD is corrupt and I don't want to start again with a new team of thieves.
You just seem desperate for anyone else to be in power - like that is a solution to complex long term problems.
Regarding terror funding - you are engaging in whataboutery now. It's a straight forward point - you say AL is anti national and I've shown you that BNP actually was exposed for exactly that.
