Is anyone on this forum diagnosed with ADHD?

.
A friend of mine has ocd... he doesnt take meds... says he can control it.. is it like cureable? or do you have to take meds your whole life or something?
Depends on the level, like in my case i have life crippling one. So i take meds, and these days going through Cognitive Behavior Therapy. If your friend has a mild one then of course he can control it and perhaps defeat it too. Ask him to exercise regularly especially balancing exercise are good against OCD.

Tell me about the taboo thing. Many people around me say that i do "Wahaim" on purpose

That's not waiham. Taboo means, something that is not socially well received or respected.

For example, having extra-marital affair is considered a Taboo in almost all societies and religions.......it is considered bad.

Wahm? Dude many people in S.Asia have a wardrobe full of it!

His mom is a doctor....only the parents can handle him....we noticed it when he was less than 2yrs old...

That's the problem, even doctors in Pakistan are not well versed in these ailments.

Yea...but his mom read about it coz of her son...I think he does take meds coz I saw them some 3-4 yrs back he is a little "controlled" or maybe he has also learned to control (sometimes I worry about the dosage they give him) but every now and then you see sparks of it .....

OHO I KNEW THAT. '' TELL ME ABOUT IT" is used as an ironic acknowledgement.

Basically people would just deny that there is something wrong with their son or label some stuff as sharati hai oz its not a social norm to accept such things - damn I remember my neighbour was some what similar :o:

Well, think of this, i didn't start to speak until i was 3 years old. My grandfather would tell my mother (as narrated by her) that give him badam (almonds)

LOL.

I still speak very less now, but i listen very carefully. I can judge people better than most can and i can see right through them. Which makes me paranoid and have less friends. But that is who i am. But it makes it extremely difficult for someone to dupe me.

in everything there is ALLAH's hikmah...

I will give you another example which is a little severe....Autism....

Some people cant even let anyone touch them, cant stand bright light, cant hear high sounds.....But these people are detailed oriented and super intelligent...as today's research tells us high EQ is better than high IQ

Despite having Autism symptoms i was told that i don't have Autism. This the thing with these disorders the symptoms overlap a lot. or perhaps it's research in this field which hasn't advanced sufficiently.

Autism is a spectrum...you can fall anywhere on the spectrum....Many have the mild case and it is VERY COMMON
