Iran's Space Program

Good luck to Iran.

Iran is one of few Asian countries that can interdependently launch a satellite. There are way ahead of Israelis as well in this field. :)

There are so many countries Iran can co-operate with. What about Russia - India - Iran? Iran has good diplomatic relations with both.

tanx but india has good diplomatic relations with israel ... & russia ... Unreliable :undecided:

Russia refused to launch an Iranian satellite and they will not cooperate as they have already said that there will be no space cooperation between Russia and Iran. India is also very close to US and not possible. China is one possibility and that might happen.

No. As I said US did it with 20 billion dollars in 1969. But the value of dollar has dropped since then and 20 billion dollars of 1969 is equal to 100 billion dollars of now. So I do not think 10 billion is enough.

but we are in 2012 & technology is Incomparable with 1969's :coffee:

What is wrong with PAkistan, not sending a man to space ?

Regardless, you would still need a large amount of money and 10 billion will not be enough to build such a rocket such as Saturn V. You see, Saturn V was the largest rocket ever built and even NASA admits that if today they wanted to build it, they will have to start from scratch since all those who were involved in its design and building are either dead or retired and all that is left of it are old blue prints and manuals. With 10 billion dollars you can have several nice robotic mission to mars but no manned mission to moon. If it was that low a price to go to moon, then, Russians, Chinese and Americans would already be there with their moon bases built.

One way to make going to moon cheap is to have a large space station orbiting earth as a docking station instead of going straight from earth to moon. That is the way NASA wants to do it now. Then they want to use moon as a docking station for going to Mars.

One good thing about having a base on the moon is that there is alot of Helium-3 on the moon which can be mined and used there on the moon or shipped back to earth for use in fusion nuclear reactors. This way some scientists believe that a profitable model can be built where mining from the moon not only pays for the mission but actually makes huge profits.
