What's the difference between this ant the Nasr missile?Iran mass delivery "Nasir" anti ship cruise missile to IRGCN تحویل انبوهی موشکهای کروز نصیر به سپاه
Thanks!Arminkh,
1) This Nasir has a small turbojet engine as the "cruise" propulsion, replacing the original solid-fuel rocket motor.
2) Because of the new propulsion system, a solid-fuel booster was necessary to get the missile airborne in the first place.
3) Because of both previous points, there is a good chance the range of the missile has been increased by a factor of 3 (~100km), though we're waiting on official statements to confirm.
The result is something akin to a scaled down C-802, with similar range and a somewhat smaller warhead. This means it carries a smaller footprint in terms of deck space and allows relatively small vessels to have OTH strike ability (they would still need a third-party source to "see" the target over the horizon first, such as a UAV or maritime patrol bird).
So, it's kind of a big deal.
Most probably a telescopic system used with the gun beside. Gunner mans the gun, a gunnery NCO uses it to visually spot target, direct fire & confirms hit or delivers correction. Much like a sniper & his spotter. It can also be used to deliver visual information to weapons officer & commander of the ship.frigate Damavand (77) what is this system?
thank !

Which facility is the image from?
It is fateh? dimensions suggest it.
I want news on Besat...
And exactly where is that? Name of facility/city or coordinates please.Same facility where all new subs are created from!
This is Iran's first experience with a domestic sub of this size. From tests to operations manuals to training of the crew. Everything is being done for the first time. It will take much longer than usual projects.Sadly our naval programs have been delayed so much. Fateh was delayed given it going back in design to fix its issues. If it was done right, it should have been ready years ago and today, we should have been talking about besat.
I agree. They should have avoided the whole " will unveil soon" for like 5 years straights...
