Iranian Ground Forces | News and Equipment

I think this is more of a defensive mobilization than an "attack", or at best artillery and missile fire from within Iran into groups castles like a year ago but at a higher level but still the same operations, not sending troops but rather a defensive-offensive mobilization

They will attack enemy from long distance. They don't need MRAPs

MRAP is not an IFV or even an APC, it’s an ambush resistant vehicle with anti-insurgent level armour protection. You realize there are sleeper cells in Kurdistan side of Iran right? Go Google how many IRGC have died in Iranian side of Kurdistan in last 10 years. We have domestic equipment solutions available that are not being prioritized. We don’t even build armoured humvees. Aras truck is just a cheap unsafe alternative.

Baluchistan and Kurdistan are Iran’s most volatile terrorist hotbeds. Sending your best trained troops in open transport is simply unwise thru these territories. Both Pakistan and Iran have faced consequences doing this in their respective border regions.

Example: US Navy Seals in their desert rapid vehicle

  1. Rapid deployability
  2. Camouflage
  3. Mobility

Come on, MRAPs didn’t even exist when this picture was taken.

3 troops in a dune buggy in 1990’s Kuwait near a US embassy is not the same as 15+ vehicle open troop transport convoy going to the border region where sleeper cells are rampant and IRGC lives have been lost for years.

Equating the movement of a small tactical squad with open troop movement of hundred(s) of troop thru at hotzone is absurd. A poor attempt at trying to deflect how poorly Iranian troops are protected/equipped in volatile parts of our country. Modernization is slow in this field. The domestic capability and equipment is available just not ordered by top brass in sufficient numbers.

Iran need MRAPS to protect themselves on their own road they built? Some random Iranian people would put mines on the road to the borders?

As always this will be artillery and missile fire, whoever thinks Iran is going to cross inside Iraqi borders to blitz towards the targets with tanks Russia-like lives in another world, this would bring stupid human losses and vehicles seen shows exactly this, tanks are for show of force

This is a defensive offensive mobilization like last time, Iran isn't going to use buggy and motorbikes with T-72s crossing into Iraqi border without any aerial support, we are talking about Komala, a separatist group, not an army

It’s clear you aren’t Iranian or understand the country. Kurdistan border is porous due to its rugged terrain. This allows sleeper cells to infiltrate for hit and run attacks. MRAPs aren’t just for mines, they are protections against heavy arms fire and RPGs as well which are very easy to find in Iraq after years of war or be supplied by Mossad in Iraq.

So yes traveling in Toyota trucks and Aras trucks is not smart. At the very least an armoured truck to protect against small arms fire or an ambush.

One example:

Three members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) have been shot dead in the western city of Piranshahr, West Azerbaijan Province, the IRGC said in a statement on July 9.

The three died “when terrorists opened fire on their car,” the statement said, adding that an IRGC member had been wounded in the attack.

The semiofficial Mehr news agency said Kurdish militants had killed the IRGC members in an ambush in a village near the Iran-Iraq border town of Piranshahr.

Another example:

Hamzeh Sayyed al-Shohada Base of the IRGCGround Forces announced in a statement on Tuesday that following a clash with terrorists, Colonel Shakiba Salimi was killed along with two other forces. Some anti-Iran elements have also been killed by these IRGC members.

Another example:

At least 10 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's Basij forces were killed overnight in an attack on a military post along the Iraqi border, Iran's semiofficial Tasnim news agency said on Saturday

I didn't asked for your typical snowflake answer and your bullshit links dating from 2018 redirecting to another subject, conptempting snowflake.

You are as sensible as a 16yr old virgin girl and have a huge complex of inferiority, when we look at your message it seems like you think you are a member of the parliament speaking about internal issues

Compulsive condescending snowflake sending links about embushes when he send links about the convoy driving on public roads just before, speak for yourself

Like I said. It’s clear you are not Iranian nor understand that area. I am actually half Iranian Kurd so yes I know the Iranian Kurdistan region better than you.

You aren’t very mature either, seems like I upset you quite easily.

Some random Iranian people would put mines on the road to the borders?

More oblivious comments. Simply educate yourself.

Iran discovered and neutralized 400 explosive devices, since the start of the mass protest triggered by the death of Mahsa Amini in September 2022, Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib said in a recent interview.

Another Kurdish Terrorist cell was busted in Gilan, Iran (article is from today btw)

None of these happened on a main road away from the border, nor against large convoys. Local terrorist grouplets aren't strong enough to mount such operations.

The clip of the Green Berets however is showing these as part of a large column far from the hardly accessible, isolated mountain terrain alongside the border, which is where the bulk of terrorist attacks happened in the past. Here however, chances of an ambush are close to zero.

And what about the Ahvaz military parade attack?

What about the Imam Khomeini shrine and parliament attack?

What about the assassination of Iran’s head of nuclear research institute using AI powered machine gun in the back of a peykan in Karaj?

Bold of you to assume it would be difficult to an attack unsuspecting convoy, or that these “local terrorist grouplets” don’t get assistance from foreign intelligence groups.

A handful of cheap explosive quadcopters could have killed 25+ soldiers operated from 2KM+ away.
