Iran's Rial: Bad policy or Western sanctions?
Riot police in the Iranian capital, Tehran, have fought with protesters angry over the sharp fall in Iran's currency, the Rial.
Hundreds of demonstrators turned out on Wednesday to demand the governor of the central bank step down. They also accused their president of financial mismanagement.
The Rial has fallen to a record low against the US dollar in recent days.

"The cause of all this misery is because of the exchange control that was imposed at the beginning of the Islamic revolution. The death knell of any economy is when you impose exchange control because you introduce black-market economy and it starts with the currency."
Babak Emamian, the chairman of the British Iranian Business Council

There is some truth to this essay.
We all know that Mullees and Ayatullees are trying to run a country in 21st century, and yet they want to consult books from 7th century and use economic models that are now 1400 years old.
These idiots were supported by none other than the trader class of Iran.
Now the same trader class is rioting. It shows that traders in Iran were idiots to support Mullees.
It also shows that perhaps finally the Ayatullees are losing their support base.
Who knows what will come out of it.
I pray for the safety of Iranian people. They are so nice and beautiful people. Too bad they are stuck with the likes of Shah, or the Ayatullees, or the commies like Tudeh and khalq.
peace.
