about Z-4 we should consider about the electronic and protection systems,That's the point.
as twilight said before, Z-4 is just a prototype, the project is make progressing slowly, there is no hurry for that.( i will say why) . nothing more.
most of our armor vehicles like tanks and APC produced in early 90's by ourselves. after 8 years war we lost everything, we hardly needed to rebuild our army. the war taught us we should produce our need in home. we got suffer during war because of embargo and lacking spare parts. as no one sold us anything easy, iran began to design a new tank to name Z-1.
Z-1 is comparable with M-60 , That's just a little better in attention to the shape. in early 90's iran could produce T-72 s that is better than M-60 and Z-1. then the producing of Z-1 got stopped. in lately 80's and early 90's iran changed her strategy. Iran focused on missile program because if we would work on conventional ways to make a good airforce and tanks and... in the
best situation today we would have 400 500 4.5 generation fighters that could do anything in front of US Air forces. because of our missile powers no one except US has dare to attack us, and it will have a lots of casualties and price for US to invade us. all Iran did past was to prevent war. instead of spending budget to build big warships, we first built many anti ship missiles,mines,mini sub to have something to hit enemy conflicts. if we wouldn't work on them and try to just build destroyer, we couldn't work on nuclear technology and many years ago they bombed our facilities. now we have enough power to hit their forces in the region and prevent the war. we are working on conventional army today.
since few years ago we started to build new air defense systems and make a good Air shield against enemy Air force. it could be completed by S-300 that deal canceled.long altitude was our Air shield weakness, then Iran improved and upgraded S-200 and start working on a long altitude domestic system to name BAVAR 273. At the same time Iran is expanding her naval conflict, projects like heavy submarine and order to build 10 new frigate and destroyers(one delivered and 3 is under construction) .
Next and last step is Air force and armor forces. if there wont happen any war in near future, in next decade we will see iranian new advanced fighters and tanks. It doesn't mean they dont care them at all nowadays. it means they are not focused today.
Tank is necessary when you take a land and wanna keep it. and if you wanna use your tanks then you should make Air safe for them that you need a good Air force, without Air support, All your best tanks can be hunted easy by enemy fighters. That's why Iran has no hurry to complete the Z-4 tank project. let's see what they show next months.
Iran is doing as same as china have been doing. show lots of projects,concepts,makets but work on just some of them to confuse enemy.
