So I don't know where you are getting your information.

As for Karrar, it clearly uses a T-72 chassis so no reason why it would use an engine not from a T-72 or T-90.

And now you accepted that Karrar is just a modified copy of T-90 but I must say Iranian using old T-72s to make them Karrar based on T-90 since they don't have engines and other required stuff.

We will upgrade our old T-72s to Karrar standard... Then we will think about producing more or replacing it with new generation of Iranian designed zulfaghar !

The S-300 was originally canceled because of UN sanctions, it was only after nuclear talks that the S-300 was delivered similar to how the US curved some sanctions and allowed the sale of airliners.

If the Karrar uses a T-72 chassis why would it use a different engine? In terms of development cost logistics and infrastructure it doesn't make sense especially when Iran has experience with Russian engines. It's extremely unlikely that the Karrar uses an Iranian made engine, not only for the reasons I mentioned but because it's different to build a reliable tank engine.

In this case, we must be independent for obvious reasons. We asked them for those equipment but they didn't help. Our problem is not technology or labor, we wanted to save time and and cash. Generally we have no way except being independent in production of military equipment.
