So is Indian culture not alive and doing well??
Don't we celebrate festivals we celebrated 2000 years ago????
What nonsense are you dogging???? Do you think only Iran has a culture???
Screaming like a mad dog doesn't make you any superior all right.
We gave the world Hinduism, Buddhism,Jainism, Sikhism everything.
We sheltered the Parsis who were thrown out of your country. We accept our Islamic history as our own.
We believe our culture was furthur enriched with Islamic architecture, sufism etc.
All cultures and religions have thrived in India. Ancient Indians and Iranians had a very rich interaction and so did ancient Indians and Arabs. The problem is your Ayatollahs have taught you only Iranians have a culture. And fools like you believe whatever **** is showered on you by mad mullahs.
If screaming on a net forum makes your country superior and brave and sovereign then God bless you and your country.

You would like that wouldn't you camel? Sorry, my culture is still alive and well. I speak Persian, I still celebrate the same holdiays and events as my ancestors did 2500 years ago, our new year is still the same new year that Cyrus the Great and his followers celebrated 2500 years ago, the Zoroastrian religion is still alive and well, our calenders are still from the same time, our music etc...

all this despite thousands of years of invasions by Greeks, Mongols, Arabs, Romans etc...

Islam did enter Iran, but many Iranians embraced it and still do. Cultures evolve and 2500 years is a long time. To still have so much of our native culture is amazing. How many people can claim to have so much from 2500 years ago? Not many people.

And your example is hillarious. You guys are the ones that want to change the status quo not us, so shouldn't it be the other way around Einstein? The Persian Gulf is the accepted name and the official name of this body of water, you guys wanna change it, so it's you who is wasting time "on trivial things."

Einstein lol

Indians, your ***** are burning because I said the Chinese have the stones to not roll over every time Uncle Sam says so. That's the truth though isn't it?

Look at the responses, you guys actually think we're making nuclear weapons! Drinking the American cool aid by the gallon lol

I know why you are losing your mind. Truth hurts. You have been taught your hisory with lashes. So i understand.
oh is that supposed to be an accomplishment?

1.3 BILLION MOTHA FUKIN PEOPLE

vs

29 million (during shah's time)

you guys are delusional

what?

....

The Khomeinites and Khameinites concept of bravery was seen in Tehran recently. When a crowd of 5000 thousand students broke into the British embassy and tore embassy papers. Now thats called guts and thats called soverignty.

LOL
oh is that supposed to be an accomplishment?

The fact that some here get comfort that US Naval Officers are able to beat other US Naval Officers in US Naval excercises using your tactics shows a real lack of understanding. It should worry you, as it means we will be prepared and have standard counter-measures already in place.

(and even be able to turn those tactics back on you )

Why do you think anyone even does war-gaming?

.
Iran must keep focusing on their missile programme. Since they can put satellites in orbit making an ICBM within the next
7-10 years shouldn't be that difficult. No country in the world have enough firepower to reach with 3 miles of US coast , but
that won't be the case 20 years from now. Efficient nuclear ICBM are the best deterrence against the yanks.

Any country can reach and dock in any harbour in any country in the world provided political reasons do not interrupt it. Bangladeshi ships dock in most 'major' ports of the world without any problems. It has nothing to do with firepower. Iran can easily reach the 'perimeters' of USA's EEZ, that's nothing difficult or spectacular. If some body claims that Iran can actually defeat USA's navy at its current strength near USA's shores, then that would be difficult to believe.

.
Iran is being stupid at the moment. They don't need nuclear weapons. And they certainly don't need a war either.

They need to let go of their nuclear ambition, and work on strengthening their economy, boosting trade, negotiate with US for an aid package for letting go of their nuclear weapons program, and focus on development. Nuclear weapons will bring more and more problems for them, and they might never get even a chance to use them.

Iran is pushing its people into dark ages, for a bomb, and boasting of things it doesn't possess. We have heard for stealth aircraft, stealth submarines, now submarines capable of reaching US eastern coast, long range missiles, what not.

In reality, Israel and US can obliterate their defenses within 48 hours.

Its against common sense to continue their nuclear weapons program, specially considering that no country has used it in past 5 decades, and that it did not even succeed properly as a deterrent (kargil).

1) Iran is not building nuclear weapons, everybody (except you) knows this.

2) You don't seem to have any objections against Israel's illegal arsenal of hundreds of nuclear weapons?

Inevitable conclusion;

You are a troll.

.
These occasional outbursts from Iran are not the products of a rational mind. Great injustice is being done to the Iranian people. I wonder how a sane citizen can tolerate such nonsense.

I agree with the mad hatter ( Alice in wonderland ) when he says ;

" Down with the bloody big head "

The outbursts from Washington are very rational! Fool..

Iran's Navy has the ability to deploy its vessels three miles off the US east coast, a high-ranking Iranian Navy commander was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency.

If I remember correctly, our navy commander said " 12 miles " and that is free international waters ...

Iran threatens American east coast

next time Americans will come and saying " persian Gulf is our coast , so your navy shouldn't threatens our coast " .... how aragonant Yankees can be !?

Iranian "destroyer":

Displacement: 1,500 tonnes
Length: 95 meters (310 foot)[1]
Beam: 11.1 m estimated
Draught: 3.25 m estimated
Propulsion: 2 x 10,000 hp diesel engines plus 4 diesel generators; 4 x 550 kw[citation needed]
Speed: 30 knots

Fars news Agency and other Iranian sites, say it is a 14 000 tons Destroyer! so what is to believe?
First I've heard 1500 tons, but it seems too small when you compare with 10k tons ships, than it was confirmed many times over that the Mowje Class Destroyer is in reality a 14 000 plus tons Destroyer.

Pentagon admits lethality, effectiveness of Iran missile systems

The Pentagon has admitted that the “lethality and effectiveness” of Iran's missile systems has improved and Tehran would present a “formidable force” while defending its territory.

According to a June 29 report by the Pentagon, “Iran has boosted the lethality and effectiveness of existing systems by improving accuracy and developing new submunition payloads” that “extend the destructive power over a wider area than a solid warhead,” Bloomberg reported on Wednesday.

The report, signed by US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, was presented to the four US congressional defense committees last week to comply with a 2010 directive to provide an annual classified and unclassified assessment of Iran’s military power.

It noted that improvements in Iran's missile capability are occurring in parallel with regular ballistic-missile training that “continues throughout the country” and the addition of “new ships and submarines.”

Iran is “developing and claims to have deployed short-range ballistic missiles with seekers that enable the missile to identify and maneuver toward ships during flight,” the report added.

“This technology also may be capable of striking land- based targets.”

Congressional Research Service Iran analyst Kenneth Katzman said previous reports by the US government “always downplayed the accuracy and effectiveness of Iran’s missile forces.”

“The report [however], seemed pretty sober and respectful of Iran’s capabilities, crediting Iran with improving survivability,” Bloomberg quoted Katzman as saying.

Early in July, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) test fired domestically-produced missiles during a three-day military drill codenamed The Great Prophet 7.

The tested missiles included Shahab (Meteor) 1, 2, 3, Khalij Fars (Persian Gulf), Tondar (Lightning), Fateh (Victor) and Zelzal (Quake) as well as Qiam (Uprising).

Iran has repeatedly stated that its military might poses no threat to other countries, reiterating that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.

Brother, I have great admiration of your nation. If given the opportunity, I would love to visit Iran.

I never make fun of any nation. Iran is making good progress and has lot of potential. Iran is certainly a regional power.

However, my statement was in context of the news item in the lead post of this thread. You have to understand that WAR will destroy your beautiful nation and this will be another significant loss for Islamic block in modern times. USA is far beyond the league of any Islamic nation in terms of power projection and tolerance. Giving students FALSE HOPE against USA is foolish thing to do. Their are other methods to keep morale high.

Panetta went on to say that if a strike was made on Iran’s atomic weapons facilities then the US was better equipped to do it than Israel.

“If they decided to do it there’s no question that it would have an impact, but I think it’s also clear that if the United States did it we would have a hell of a bigger impact,” said Panetta.

And God knows! What else have they planned by now.

Best thing for Iran to do is garner as much 'international support' as possible under current circumstances. Amending ties with GCC will be the FIRST major step. Ponder over this.

I believe that Iran and US can have friendly relations. Their are no permanent enemies in the world of foreign affairs.

What a Pakistani navy commander would have said to a bunch of naval students, if Pakistan was under a potential imminent threat stated by foreign powers almost daily? I guess you know the answer.

Pakistan have been threatened a lot of times since 9/11. Good thing is that Pakistani commanders know how to put things in to perspective. They do respond to international threats, when they feel necessary. However, they are not loud-mouthed and publicity seekers; at least, I have noticed great deal of professionalism in Pakistani armed forces during WOT. Yes! The commanders may teach students about importance of sacrifice and bravery. However, they do not overstate their abilities. Their is no need to. With blessings of Allah Almighty, Pakistan have a reasonable military. However, it is not necessary that it is equipped to deal with any kind of threat. It certainly cannot; and it is still regarded as one of the best in the Islamic world. Reputation is not build by tall claims but by action and capabilities.

.
Everything you are saying about Pakistan is true, although the Threats were not the same neither were the conjunctures like the experience of Iran vs The US during the Iran /Iraq war.
The Pakistani military high command had also responded to threats with timely threats of its own, while in the case of Iran it was/is almost a daily threat in the global news, so they are also responding proportionally.

For anyone who still doubts the Iranian military might, here is yet an n...th article from the US defence department itself.

Iran may have been threatened more times, but US have issued some strong threats to Pakistan during WOT. The first threat after 9/11 terrorist event is of very serious nature in particular. Threats can't get much worse then this one in particular.

US always takes its adversaries seriously. I am not surprised by this report.

However, according to CENTCOM assessment, US will destroy Iran in 3 weeks time. Now this is an eye-opening revelation.

Everyone can make allegations of 3 weeks war for their public consumption!
It took the US 10 years in Iraq, lost more than 50 000 soldiers (unofficial count by Iraqis but saying the truth about the almost 1 million martyred Iraqis too, so it is not that doubtful at all if one looks at the proportions and the almost too late Iraqi resistance fighting!), and ultimately lost the war!!!
While everyone is entitled to his own opinion, Here is what I think personally about the issue:

We say history tends to repeat itself for anyone who lacks prudence.
Muslims have a saying that a believer doesn't get bitten twice by a snake.
Iran is not Iraq, the context and the conjuncture are not the same at all:

In The Iraqi case, the invaders had the population support and complacency, until they found out that they were mistaken about the real intentions of the west, than they started a deadly fight and got rid of the Americans with all their "might".

The Iranian case is totally different, the fight of a whole nation will start at ounce from day one, if attacked, and the US knows it, it even told Israel to take a hike.

So, it is all talk but no war; the US can not afford to loose 4 super carriers and dozens of destroyers and warships (that means at least 30-40 000 American soldiers lost lives) in the Persian Gulf, just in a few weeks, it also needs the GCC fire power, which I doubt very much that it will get involved unless attacked outside the American bases.
With the US humiliated by the loss of its aircraft carriers, it will have to use Nuclear weapons, and that means WW3, since too many neighbouring countries including Russia, Pakistan and GCC will be contaminated as well, so the choices for a war are no choices a all.

US will not match Iran military power in Persian Gulf: Commander

A senior Iranian commander says the United States is not capable of military engagement with Iran in the Persian Gulf and this is why it has resorted to sanctions.

“The reason why Americans have resorted to economic sanctions and mischief is that they cannot take advantage of military leverage. If the [global] Arrogance and the US could achieve their goals through military action, they would have certainly done that,” said Commander of Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi.

Fadavi stated that Iran's missile power has greatly increased compared to the past and what US knows about Iran's missile capacities is much less than what it doesn’t know.

“The reason why the US has put its full force in oil and economic sanctions is that a military option against the Islamic Republic of Iran will be of no avail to them,” Fars News Agency quoted the commander as saying on Saturday.

Fadavi further noted that the US and the Zionist regime of Israel have had bitter experiences of 33-day war [with the Lebanese Hezbollah] as well as wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Over the past years, Iran has made important breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing important military equipment and systems.

On June 15, Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said the Islamic Republic’s naval forces will firmly counter any threat and deal with insecurity single-handedly.

Tehran has repeatedly clarified that its military might is merely based on the nation's defense doctrine of deterrence and poses no threat to other countries.

CENTCOM is not some tabloid outlet. It is a professional military organization. When such an organization reveals information of sensitive nature, it is based on serious homework which is not made public.

You do not understand the difference between major combat operations and occupation?

US defeated Iraqi leadership and its security apparatus within 21 days (major combat operations). The rest is occupational period.

Also, 50000 figure is hogwosh. Iraqi count is also hogwosh. Were Iraqi officials allowed to handle and count US dead bodies? Please use common sense. This is information age. Go to icasualties.org (an independent source) and you can even read the names of the soldiers who died in recent wars.

Heared these stories before.

Iranians are not mindless zombies. They are humans. They are as much susceptible to shock factor as other humans.

When Iraq went in to Iran under the leadership of Saddam during 1980, it did not possessed the resources for occupational role. And their were no clear objectives. Had it been a capable military force in Iraq's place, led by a competent leadership; the outcome would have been very different. Both of these countries fought in WWI style and wasted lot of resources. You are impressed by this?

Operation Praying Mantis should have taught you something. However, it seems that guys like you will not be convinced until entire Iran gets bombed back to stone age.

I've a question, let's assume that the US can defeat Iran not in three weeks but in three days. If so, for the last thirty years what has prevented the sole super power from attacking Iran? Please don't tell us that the US hasn't done so on humanitarian ground because that is like saying Hitler spared some Jews on Humanitarian ground!
