So each candidate is elected separately instead of voting based on his party if i understood correctly.Number of candidates in each city is base on its population ... therefore in Tehran we have 30 parliamentary seats to be voted electors must write the full names of candidates + their codes they support on the ballot paper. In the capital, this means voters should write the names of 30 candidates on the ballot for parliament and 16 candidates for the Assembly of Experts, 8.5 Million were eligible to vote by a simple math you could figure out the number of votes that should be counted ... 368 million votes just in Tehran if full participation takes place ...
no , nobody is voting on parties , in fact some candidates are in the list of several different parties . but when you go to vote you must write the name of the Candidate and his Election Code.So each candidate is elected separately instead of voting based on his party if i understood correctly.
People vote to candidates separately and parties ain't important ... before election parties would release a list of their own candidates .. for example in recent election reformist released a list by the name of "List of hope" and asked people to vote it which won in Tehran ... therefore you could either vote to these lists or vote separately ....So each candidate is elected separately instead of voting based on his party if i understood correctly.
62%i think that's why only 50% of the voters showed up
Hmm the whole political system in Iran is confusing, insane amount of votes, i wonder if this is unique or if it has another exsample somewhere else.People vote to candidates separately and parties ain't important ... before election parties would release a list of their own candidates .. for example in recent election reformist released a list by the name of "List of hope" and asked people to vote it which won in Tehran ... therefore you could either vote to these lists or vote separately ....
What is the mechanism of voting in Turkey? do you vote to a party? what about independent candidates that have no party?
There's one big problem with that, hormones. I think the lower limit should be 40-45.These old guys should step aside and let youth to come to power ...
Yeah but Iranian voting system still has significant differences to others even if its the same system. There's one big problem with that, hormones. I think the lower limit should be 40-45.
