US, Turkey and now Iran all wanted to mediate Kashmir issue between Pakistan and india. That means Kashmir is no longer a "bilateral" issue as india exploited it as such. In fact increasing world and regional power pushing to solve Kashmir issue will set india back in multiple ways:

1) it will be extremely difficult (not without significant fallout) for india to commit new genocide in Kashmir and impose military will.
2) indian bid to security council is NO GO without having Kashmir issue permanently resolved.
3) cost of occupying Kashmir will be incrementally higher for india.

Pakistani establishment apart from Kashmir has no long term plan for India forgiving the Dhaka fiasco.

Afghanistan is a curious case for Pakistan given the cultural romance. But we treat Afghanistan more as a landlocked country who needs help like a good neighbour. Strategic depth still remains a dream at this moment in time on paper.

Iran and Pakistan share an equal problem in Balochistan while Pakistan has solved hers. Iran's strategic depth ploy failed post Bhutto. Post revolution Iran needs the media attention to get the cash flowing.

What our neighbours must understand that we do not need them but they desperately need us. Otherwise phase 3 might not be that attractive for them post revolution Pakistan.

Sometimes, one wonders, what would be the effect if the Kashmiris would stop asking for freedom and start singing We Are Free, We Are Free in the faces of the occupiers. It will break the spirit of illegimate empire.

What is fasicnating is the fact that the entire arch all the way to Assam gets its redemption from the Valley of Sorrows. Capstone holding a feable arch...take out the stone and ....

ISLAMABAD: The Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost has said that Tehran is willing to mediate between Pakistan and India over the long-standing issue of Kashmir if requested.

“Any conflict or tension between the two countries [Pakistan and India] will hinder the progress and development of both the countries but will also impact upon the economies of other regional countries,” said Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost during an interview.

Iran has also offered its assistance to attain peace and tranquility in the region.

Commenting on Pak-Iran trade ties, Honardoost said that a Free Trade Agreement draft has been signed between the two nations and it will soon be operative to enhance two-way business and trade engagements.

“Our future is bright after the removal of impediments. Hopefully, our trade relations would continue to grow,” he remarked.

Concerned officials from both the countries are also expected to meet in an upcoming 20th round of Pak-Iran Joint Economic Commission (JEC) soon to further strengthen trade ties between the two, he added.

Replying to a question about China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Honardoost said the project was not only a game-changer for the region but would be a unifying force for the countries in it.

The ambassador termed the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) an important group for the Muslim world and underlined the need to widen its sphere by adding all Islamic countries into its fold.
