What's new

Iran missile strike successful ,Israel failed to detect missile's warhead separation

This was proposed many times before (even by anti iran hostile media) that satellite and GCS jamming was performed on RQ-170, quoting an Iranian engineer that it made "the bird lost it's brain" then they fed the false GPS signals to it to make it land inside IRAN.

and its not the only time that may have happened. In 2016 IRGC was accused of counterfeit spoofing GPS attack again that led to capture of US marines by IRGC-N in persian gulf.

Guys lets not forget we produce 0.2-0.3 million engineering graduates annually. We are not Saoodiarabia where 85 % engineering force is made of expats.

Amuses me to notice that most of the pakistanis on this forum have no idea of Iranian military capabilities. Our Missile program, AD and surveillance, UCAV programs are regionally top notch and even ahead of major regional entities, only if seen unbiased.

And how exactly did they find this stealth drone that had "crashed" fully intact in the middle of one of the most sparsely populated regions in Iran so quick?
It wasn't fully intact when it crashed. And somebody might have noticed it coming down. People live in different parts of the country, don't they?

And landed in one piece !!!

With deployed landing gears? :D

Bro you don't think you missed something here?

What kind of malfunctioning is that!!!???

Yeah ... Drone tried to save his life so deployed the landing gears and landed in one piece with near to zero damages & we had no role in the process ... Such a great idea
And where is the proof of it deploying landing gears?

Another gem....only from Iran.

People want to take you guys seriously but your fairytales get in the way.

Yeah ... Landing gears destroyed after landing on desert surface ... Left wing also damaged ... But no damages here :

It wasn't fully intact when it crashed.

You know what we mean. It landed on its belly. At worst the gear broke off (if they were even deployed), and there was a bit of a dent in the underside. But the subsystems, the shape (mostly), stealth coating, all intact and those are what matter.

And somebody might have noticed it coming down. People live in different parts of the country, don't they?

Looks like I have to dig up that thread/video.

BTW, you know the Avtobaza is speculated to be how Iran brought it down?

.
And damages on Left wing are visible.

Your engineers 'repaired' that drone for display.

It had a rough landing in reality in which parts of it broke-off.

If somebody had actually taken control of that drone, he would have ensured a smooth landing and in a landing strip preferably.

It rather seems like the drone switched to autopilot landing function after a malfunction in its receiver and suffered extensive damage in the process.

Ok... Seems we have some logical problems here... I'm out!

Enjoy...

Right.

My point is that Iranian account has loopholes - the more you dig into it, the more you realize it. Iranian establishment is well-known for pioneering and selling cool narratives to its masses.

I am equally skeptical of some Pakistani accounts and narratives by the way.

Anyways, this is getting off-topic so I will not argue on this matter further.

Thats a fair point you bring up.

I think governments and militaries the world over like the sell their respect citizens a bravado filled good looking account of how a military operation went to keep their countries at ease or to make them feel safe.

Just because you have not heard of something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I wont take you seriously from now on.

Look at what Leon Panetta is saying here. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta told Fox News on Dec. 13 "the stakes are higher for such surveillance, now that Iran can apparently disrupt the work of US drones".

I don't give a damn if you take me seriously or not - mostly trolls do not take me seriously because they cannot have a constructive discussion and fail to comprehend arguments issued to them. And I don't give a damn about those journalist pieces either - I am interested in expert assessments only.

Anyways, did I assert that GPS jamming is not a thing or not possible? It certainly is. That is why GPS anti-jamming technologies have emerged. I advised you to delve into the subject of "GPS anti-jamming technologies" to understand why GPS jamming (and spoofing) claims fall short in practice - did you?

Iranian account of capturing that drone with combination of GPS jamming (and spoofing) techniques - has loopholes (Technicalities notwithstanding, this account suggests that RQ-170 does not have defenses against these kind of threats which is norm for American military hardware otherwise - why would Americans be so careless in seemingly top-secret missions?). I have already shared an 'expert' counterargument for it in one of my earlier posts - did you bother to read (and address) it? No. Here it is again: https://www.jasadvisors.com/iran-hijacked-us-rq-170-sentinel-drone-with-gps-hack-not-likely/

I pointed out to you that American surveillance doesn't stops - this incident hasn't stopped it. You guys can rejoice in these minor (but fabricated) victories but better pray that 'major intervention' doesn't happens. When it will - we will see how good your state truly is in the matters of defense.

Iraq also had its share of 'minor victories' against US assets before major intervention and we all saw what became of Saddam Hussein and Iraqi armed forces afterwards.
