Iran is preparing to buy new weapons-BBC

Rouhani says #Iran is preparing to buy arms for 1st time when an embargo will be lifted in 2020 under the nuclear deal (2015). Based on JCPOA, a number of UN arms sanctions on Iran are supposed to be lifted by 2020 if the nuclear deal survives until that time. 1)
Rouhani: " .. if the JCPOA stays intact until next year, all the arms embargoes on #Iran will be lifted... which means we will be able to buy & sell any weapons. We are ready for next year to buy any weapons that we need and we have also done the initial preparation.." 2) (BBC)

What are your thoughts on that? Maybe fighters? Frigates and destroyers are or are gonna be made locally, same for Karrar tank, SAm systems and missiles.

Iran ought to sell oil to China and buy J-10s on an interim basis. While collectively, Iran and Pakistan should join SAC's J-31 Stealth Fighter program. It would be a feasible decision and would also benefit Iran becoming an ally of China. Iran should also apply for full SCO membership and be a part of BRI. Pakistan and Iran have a lot to gain from mutually beneficial trade, reduced (but measured) restrictions on visas to travel between the two countries and people to people contact.

Iran is a nation misunderstood and underrated. Pakistan is a nation in flux, but on it's way to being a stable country. The only thing that both countries must let get between them is hubris. Pakistan has the ability to balance cordial relations with all Muslim countries.

Lol u weapon geeks u just jump on any weapons news n start giving suggestions..

Its a political ploy.. the US would have to pressurize EU n others not to sell them. Also their relations wiyh UK. they know JCPOA is dead. They r already crossing limit of enrichment percentage, so they want the west to officially break the agreement first n say its west breaking all agreements.

am i ?

Even if UN sanctions are lifted, US and EU sanctions on arms supplies to Iran will remain in effect. For example the EU ban on supply of any weapons to Iran valid until 2023 (8 years after JCPOA Adoption Day). But even if the JCPOA lasts until 2023, the US sanctions remain there, and problem, that European company often use American components and technologies. For example SAAB Grippen eqipped with US-licensed engines and any deliveries require the approval from the US.
i know dude i was joking, every one know what we will buy. but the part that Iran did show interests in rafale was true but France did not approved.

UN ban is just symbolic... even after that They (US) will not let countries to sell weapons to Iran or buy weapons from Iran... china And russia might risk it, afterall They already attacked by Trump's sactions, but it is not certain. So in the end it will be a gample.

I think you`ve basically said it all right there m8,basically just empty promises after empty promises after....etc.etc....:agree:

If lifted the sanction
Joint venture / TOT made in Iran with Russia the fighters jets also with China but all must be made in Iran
there is a high chance sanction will not be lift and every one including russia and china will obey it

Agreed!,total indigenous production inside iran is the only feasible option for things like fighters/strike aircraft etc..,otherwise you simply run the risk of sanctions crippling your new airforce or having to spend a lot of time and money reverse/reengineering components for local production.Ultimately when it comes to expensive hi tech systems like this, then just like irans nuclear program it has to be entirely produced in iran, because that is the only way that you can guarantee security of supply, otherwise its just not worth it.
