Iran-India to build gas pipeline through sea to save transit fee

The South Pars/North Dome field is a natural gas field located in the Persian Gulf.

It is the world's largest gas field, shared between Iran and Qatar.

Hence it will be back on track too..

Hopefully in next 20 years we can discuss gas pipeline going from Iran to India , it took india 20 damn years to agree on prices on old deal going thru Pakistan ... we can surely expect classic delays again to delay

But next 20 years would be very constructive

PS Yeah who is gona go fix the pipe when it erodes and develops holes thru which Gas is constantly leaked and it mixes with Sea water and pollutes waters , which eventually reach Pakistan via currents

That area shown in map is Prone to Hurricane/Cyclone like things on a regular basis

Its just a case of unnecessary red tape on India's part any sensible nation would have already been part of IRAN PAKISTAN INDIA Line long time ago

Due to Indian delays the pipeline was delayed by 10 years !!!
and Iran lost chance to earn almost 10-20billion from the revenues

Taking a pipeline via International Route is not ideal for Pakistan , because it interferes with Natural Habitat for fish which Pakistani fisheries depend on to capture fish and bring revenue into Pakistan.

Its just common sense , that after BP oil disaster any such "careless" operations will be stopped by Military intervention

Because once an accident occurs who will fix Pakistani Shores?

Will India pay Pakistan 100 Billion to fix our shores ?

So , from Pakistan's stand point - its not allowed it attacks our sovereign right to project All Pakistani Oceans

No one has right to pass a Bio Hazard , to ecosystems close to their land seas , fishes

We have to protect natural habitat

First of all Iam against any project that puts our energy security in the hands of a hostile nation. Whats the guarantee that after spending billions of dollars by us on IPI pipeline, this will not be held to ransom by GoP if God forbid another war occurs b/n India & Pakistan.

So this project looks like feasible alternate to IPI as there is no 'P' that will blackmail India. This proposed gas pipeline passes through international waters so Pakistan cannot do much about it.

I failed to understand why Pakistan have problem with India-Iran good relation ?

We never bother Pakistan relation with any country.

Don't talk about threat through Sea. Our Coastal force is stronger than PN.

Our Navy is very strong and best in Asia and close to become blue navy soon.

Between Iran and India roughly 1635 NM how many AC will be needed for guarding the pipeline?

Does indian AC goes underwater to guard pipeline?

Fun aside, even if pipeline built, would untimate cost would justify?
