Iran first turbojet engine for airplanes

So what @SOHEIL means is that Mapna (Tuga) is no longer a gas turbine manufacturing company. Building turbojet engines is well within its capabilities.
@Arminkh
Thx.
Indian Kavery Engine failed after 40 years of trying.
U could not think like that, for several reasons.

Sweedish, french, US, or british are not more intelligent than indians. When U talk about jet engines, it is the state of the art of what country could produce.
This topic implies a heavy industrial basis that include, heavy metallurgy infrastructure, raw materials in order to transform them, heavy tools machinery complex, and it is not all, U need of course money, and highly skills personnel to do that. In fact U need huge, and heavy industrial basis in order to do that. This basis India could not afford before.
During the 60's, 70's, 80's the half of population in India starves, those who had the chances, fled to immigrate in West. Moreover is the Jet Engines turbofan a strategic urgency ? My answer is no. At that time Indian's strategics's urgency was nuclear weapons and missiles in order to deter China. India invested in this area and obtained nuclear weapons with its vectors. The deterrence was obtained. After all China's jet engines project the WS-10, WS-13, and WS-15 started in 2000, and in early 90's, if not 80's. It is worth to add that at the end of 1990's, Russia's military budget was 6 billions $, China's ones barely equal to 20 billions $, India between them, around 10 billions $, meanwhile US one was at least 300 billions $.
What could you do with 10 billions $ ? Barely to defend yourself. In that time India, and China were simply third world countries without money.
Nowadays things are completely different because China, and India are complexe industrial countries that are quickly narrowing the gap with the West. If you see China's jet engines, the real progress started only after 2012, because China is doing what it could to narrow the gap, and they are succeeding. Moreover for example a CNC 5 axis before the 2010's was available only in western countries. US decided who has the right to use it or not. Who has the right to produce it or not. Furthermore the price of a CNC tool machine in the 80's is not as it is now. Nowadays any country could access of any CNC, enough to dispute with US. For that reason after 2010, India will become undoubtedly one of the top country in the world.
Back to Iran.
Nowadays Iran is able, or at least is on the verge to produce complex CNC tool machines, even 5 axis. Because nowadays Iran has all assets that could allow a such challenge. Once the industrial basis is available, it is just a matter of time to narrow the gap with the West in aircraft area. Iran next will produce complexe jet engines, and surely in the coming years will be able to reproduce plane like F-14, F-4 Phantom II, and even the Mig-29.
Another important setting must be taken in account, the print 3D, iranians seem to be very advanced, and very skilled. Print 3D could shorten the road for Iranians to access any technology that they want.
Thx to all for your precious informations U share.

For commercial use, we are developing large UAVs with jet engines, we can incorporate this engine into our large armed UCAVs and also, light training aircrafts. But the most important part is being a baseline for developing more powerful engines.
Yes, military use case for UAV, training and even fully functional fighter aircraft, this effort would fit well. I actually meant civil-commercial use case. In that area there is no immediate economic justification and will not be even in next 50 years. There are too many technically matured producers crowded out the market. New comers like Russian United aircraft corporation, Chinese COMAC, Japanese Mitsubishi struggling to take market share from already established business of Boeing and Airbus.

Important point to note here, this has now been revealed after it completed its reliability testing for many years. Iran for sure has much more powerful engines in testing phase, but they will only be shown once they showed their reliability. Most important factor for such engines is their reliability.

This is such a big leap for Iran. Indeed such a few nation can accomplish such an achievement.

MAPNA is already a pioneer in advanced gas turbine manufacture, science minister has stated they are helping develop a jet engine with 4 times more power than this one! :cheers:

Mind boggling achievements. I hope the Pakistanis, who are always looking for 'foreign experts' to help them, are taking note.

Incidentally, notice the writing in the background, Persian. If this was a Pakistani establishment, it would be in God's language, English.:omghaha:

Well done guys.

Iran isn't a fan of foreign languages. And that's a really good thing about them. Within their country they are proud of their own language.

A great achievement for Iranians. Congratulations!

Thank God for that. Even better coming from an Indian.

Thats great.. Did you guys actually fit it in real airplane and test its performance? Indian Kavery Engine failed after 40 years of trying.
9 years, yes, Tejas took (first modern combat aircraft from India), took 34 years in total).
We have again started the fresh attempt, this time involved more institutions, and again, with every year a number of successful and failed tests (not only from this, but from other areas too, we come even year). Recently upgraded facilities for a 130kN engine, and two new projects Ghatak and MANIK for large drones (at least these two are processing well).
So, we will do it eventually, don't worry.
Engine passed so many tests in last 3 years...
Congrats, but how much thrust?

@Nilgiri

Kaveri still in development?
Yes, a new one called Kaveri 10.

Its thrust has recently been uprated (very positive news) and it will soon be coming to fruition with last mile input by Safran (snecma holding company).

The latest development and conversation is here if you are interested:

Very nice, I wish our Indian friends the best. Nice to see both Iran and India making milestones in this important area of jet engine. Who knows, maybe one day we see joint cooperation between our brotherly nations.
