Iran Exports to Pakistan reach $860 million for current year

That's true, hopefully once Arab-Iranian tensions steam down; we can reap the potential of Iranian-Pakistani relations. Before the revolution, Pakistan-Iran were very close allies - they aided us in every one of our wars and there was even talks for a possible merger.
First time i am hearing it, please elaborate if you can.

With Afghanistan also, in the late ‘90s merger with Pakistan was being discussed.

It was one of the things put to a full stop by the US’ war.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran has increased its exports to neighboring Pakistan in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2018-November 22, 2018), showing a considerable increase as compared with last year's corresponding period, an official announced on Monday.
"Iran's exports to Pakistan reached $860mln since the start of the new (Iranian) year until the end of the month of Aban (November 22)," Iran's General-Consul in Karachi city Ahmad Mohammadi said.

"Exports of goods from Iran to Pakistan have increased 60% in the current year compared with the past year," he added.

Tiles, ceramics, cement, mineral fuels, distillation products, fruits, nuts, organic chemicals, plastics, iron and steel, soaps, lubricants, waxes, and candles are among the goods Iran sends to Pakistan.

Senior leaders of Iran and Pakistan have vowed to enhance the values of trade exchanges between the two countries to the level of $5 billion.

A senior Pakistani trade official underlined in August that his country would not quit developing trade relations with Iran despite the re-imposition of sanctions against the Islamic Republic by the US.

"Sanctions will have no impact on Iran's trade with other countries and cannot hamper its progress," President of Iran-Pakistan Federation of Culture and Trade Khawaja Habib-ul Rahman said.

He underlined the re-imposition of the US sanctions against the Islamic Republic as an unjustified move, and said, "The economic situation of Iran is far better than the past and the new round of the US sanctions on Iran cannot hamper its progress."

Also, in September, Imran Khan voiced his country's willingness to broaden mutual cooperation with Iran in different fields.

"Pakistan is seeking enhancement of amicable ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran," Khan said.

The Pakistani prime minister underlined that Islamabad was looking for establishment of friendly relation with all its neighbors.

Two friends, two brothers with a similar culture, same heroes, and same Islamic ideals.

It is the misfortune of both that relations have been ruined by outsiders (Arabs and India.)

I hope in the near future, we can be allies in the true sense of the word, instead of just giving statements.

A single supernation spanning from Iran to Bangladesh including India is the way forward. The Arab nations should ideally also join but I don't see that happening soon.
But a Muslim superpower spanning Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh can be a formidable counter to US and Israeli designs.

No need to look at other nations for our approach. It can be a new one. A Caliphate of soets.

Mate, Iran has the capability to displace all these other gulfy jokers for supplying oil, condensate and gas to Pakistan. as you know we already built our pipeline and compressor stations up to the Pakistan border. The Pakistan side won't build their side of the scope because of US and Zio pressure. We can eliminate Pakistan's energy crises overnight! however that would require Pakistan to quit the corrupt Corporate Capitalist system.........easier said than done.

Iran apparently has serious cement production capabilities. Iran supplies/ed alot of cement used for Iraq's reconstruction.
Just shows you how bad overall Pakistan-Iran relations are. Low trade between them only proves that what sustains Pakistan-Iran relationship is Islamic comraderie and mutual decency.

.
I was surprised to cement is imported from Iran to Pakistan...I was under impreasion Pakistan has surplus cement that can be exported to India..

Pakistan only Imports ,Mineral Fuels, Organic Chemicals, Ethylene glycol, Plastics & Articles, from Iran for now.

Previous failed government's policies were to please house of Saud at all cost, including selling out Pakistan interest.

.
Pakistan and Iran are two natural allies; we share a unique ideology. I don't know what is holding us back, but the potential of our relations is immense.

I just learned Pakistan also shares the ideology of converting all Sunnis to Shias

LOL. This is peanuts.

Basically in the 1960s the Shah of Iran was a bit deluded and proposed the idea to try and integrate the Pakistani army and foreign policies under the leadership of Iran, which would make the Shah the head of state of Pakistan, but that the latter country would still retain it's own government and control of it's domestic policy.

What this would have amounted to would have been vassal state status for Pakistan under the leadership of Iran, with the Shah as head of state of both countries.

But when India defeated Pakistan in their 1960s war the Shah of Iran discarded the idea and started to distance himself from Pakistan and look down on them. This is when the Shah started to make overtures for warmer relations with India despite that fact that the Shah didnt like India's closeness to the Soviet Union. The Shah never liked or saw any value in Pakistan after India defeated them again in the 1970s war.

When India defeated Pakistan in war in the 1970s the Shah started to ridicule Pakistan and have serious concerns about that country.

Overall, a 'merger' of the two countries was never on the table and Iranians would never have accepted a 'merger' anyway. The idea was only ever a vague vanity ambition of the Shah to became head of state of a foreign country in the same way that ancient King's of Iran used to invade foreigners and force them to became tributaries of Persia.

The Shah was deluded and thought he was of the same mould of Cyrus the Great. That's why he proposed to become head of state of Pakistan unlike the old days when Iran would just invade South Asia whenever it felt like it.

Sounds comical that such a thing would have even proposed.

If anything in the 60s.. Pakistans Gen Ayub Khan was proposing similiar deal with afghan King.. to create a confederation.

Pakistan accepting shah of iran as a ruler..

Our country was created with the blood of milloons .. not to merge with Iran.

Pakistans initial officials had pro Iran tilt due to their own interests .. Many of them were married to Iranian women.

Sikandar Mizas wife was iranian nobility. And according to reports he was Honey Trapped by Iranian intel;

Iran was also the first country to recognise Pakistan.. and so on.

Apart from the major point that both countries were in the Pro Capitalism American Camp against the commie Soviets who were at their doorsteps.

As for the military, both nations were planning on building tanks under Ayubs regime..

Pakistan was also the fastest growing economy of the entire region.

This was how Gen Ayub was greeted in western capitals;
