The IAC-1 is FAR more modern, it has been built from the ground up as a 21st contrary warship, the Vikramditya is still, at the heart of it, a 1970s design- no amount of refurbishment can change that.
Not to forget its not ACC in first place & awkward bridge location. Despite being shorter than Vikramaditya IAC-1 would carry same no. of aircraft & operation more smoothly compare to Vikramaditya.

WOW....i'm impressed. Good to see India building such a complex ship indigenously. That's not an easy task. No country in Asia has built an aircraft carrier from scratch so far. Waiting to see what it will look like 3 years from now when complete. Good going India. keep it up. .

By the way our 2 mighty Queen elizabeth aircraft carriers will soon be ready as well. The firs wil be ready 2 years from now:)

Exactly, the IAC-1's design is built with a clear understanding of what it is and how it will fit into the fleet- the Viky was never meant to be a ACC let alone be in Indian service (Indian and Russian naval ideologies are very different) so its design is hardly maximised for its current role but it is adequate, the IAC-1 will simply be a whole lot better.
