India’s worst-ever water shortage, and the corruption surrounding it

Not really. The case in Pakistan is on a different scale compared to India. That is beside, the point that, you are quoting the summer precipitation data in South India. It is not the average.

River linking projects are good, but linking Indus to any other system violate the Indus Water Treaty. Besides we don't need Indus, there are enough river system that could complement it.

The maps are of Total rainfall anomaly which is defined the departure from the long term average, usually from 1970 on.

You must have lived in any slum then. Banglore hotels are very nice unlike the smelly hotels of china serving unhygienic food.

It is complete in Gujarat. today Narmada water is flowing in sabarmati and many other rivers and thousands of lakes and ponds.

Indian is fine. Worry about your own country man. India has many success stories of water management and models which can be replicated in many areas. What you guys will do. You neither have resources, nor money nor will to handle any issue forget about water crisis.
Best of luck....always great to have a positive outlook. I heard Chennai was a world leader in water storage...is that helping them??

I am monitoring the situation as some war mongers in your nation want to disrupt regional peace.

Your nation has two choices. start a regional conflict by violating the Indus treaty or reduce tensions and defense spending to invest in desalination and other water infrastructure.

I suggest you choose the later. We are prepared if you don't.

I think you should visit China. I have been to Chennai Bangalore Delhi and Mumbai. I know India in and out. =). You can't complain about our pollution, etc, but the 'worst' polluted cities are in India, while hundreds of thousand dying due to air pollution, the most contaminated waters are also in India with 200k dead, open defecation, and starvation, how can we even compare?

China is worst polluted country and in even 5star hotels, unhygienic food is served as per Chinese government mouthpiece news paper. Why are you not replying to your own news paper report of substandard unhygienic food being served and non availability of basic medicines.

the most contaminated waters are also in India with 200k dead,

It is 0.2 million vs 1.8 million of China. So death because of population in China is 9 times more than India. Source is Chinese news paper itself.

That's the average rate from Meteorological department that correlates the map which was compiled in 2015.

If things go as read by the map you shown, then South India must have a desert climate like most of your country.

But it has a tropical to semi arid climate. Also, the map you showed was at the time of North East monsoon which is from November-December to May-June. That's why a relatively arid region is shown with higher rainfall. While Western parts where it's summer shown with higher temperatures.

No region is reeling in water crisis, there are quite a few parts which needs a push for safe drinking water just like Sanitation initiative, or Rural Electrification initiatives, both were huge success. So, I don't see any negative result this time with the new government plan to make water available for all.

Its satellite data over the previous 180 days (does not include the Monsoon period). It does indicate India has become drier compared to its historical rainfall during the pre-Monsoon period. Not a good trend considering the population increase and ground water depletion. Lets see how these monsoons pan out this year....they should start in the coming weeks.

Nope. Where does it says we got drier than previous year? With less rainfall, it's not even year end to calculate that. Your dreams or wishes don't count.

Read your own source again, it says India had 2.5 million deaths due to pollution. Don't do indian math on me man. lol.

These are all guesstimates, but what we do know is Indian government themselves estimate 200K died due to water scarcity.

7 of the world’s 10 most polluted cities are in India

https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2019/03/7-of-the-world-s-10-most-polluted-cities-are-in-india/

China is doing a great job reducing pollution while the incompetent talk only no action GOI is doing nothing. Water crisis is happening, pollution is worse than industrialized China and starvation is still rampant.

From the way you talk, I doubt you have ever been to China, talk to your compatriots who had been there, they all come back angry against the GOI. =)

Not my dreams...its american satellite data. Most of India got a 100-300MM less rain then typical over the previous 180 days (not year). If you can't read the data, no need to discuss further.

Actually he is kinda right, India did receive the second lowest pre monsoon rainfall in the last 65 years, but this doesn't signify any trend.

We got to understand that this is a year of positive El Nino Southern Oscillations (ENSO), a phenomenon that heats up the Eastern Pacific more than the west. It is invariably associated with a weak pre monsoon and South West monsoon for the Indian Subcontinent unless the effects are mitigated by a local rise in the temperatures of the Western Indian Ocean compared to the Eastern IOR, something that is referred to as Indian Ocean Dipole.

Such events are an anomaly occuring every 5-7 years, last el nino year being during 2014-2015. There is no reason for the Pakistani poster to go gaga over it.

Yep, it's a climatic cycle. I didn't say we have received lowest or more rainfall than previous year in a particular month. But the annual rainfall remains more or less the same.

its american satellite data
Let's see what the monsoon brings.

I recently saw a house where the owner does not have any bore or water connection...his well is full and he designed the house to store rain water and solar power powers his house...for 12 years he only has excess water...the next door people rely on water tanker...he is some IIT guy with extensive experience in the field and has worked abroad as well.

This water shortage is all a myth...if you take care of the silt in ponds and lake and use the water that flows as a waste to the sea...and and dig huge pits like jayalalitha once did in the whole state of tamil nadu...even her own party people laughed at her...but as soon as the rains hit the pits became ponds...ground water was replenished...we can do this though out india as well...it will have positive impact on the ground water level.

0.2 million is figure quoted by you and not me. You must be very proud of CHinese pollution killing 1.8 million people I think. That is the reason you are pointing fingers at others without looking at your own record.

Refer here with the countrywise carbon emission in the article. China has 5 time higher carbon emission than India and 50 cent army is talking here with big mouth.

Carbon Emission of India per capita is the lowest in the world.
200k figure is from Indian sources too, not by me Bhai. Btw, Indian has the lowest carbon emission, do you know the difference between pollution and carbon emission? :D

Do you know Africans have very low carbon emission too, guess why? American have very high per capita carbon emission. Genius, we are 5x your economy of course our carbon emissions are gonna be 5x more. The key point here is pollution, you are the most polluted country in the WORLD even with stone age industrialization. This is the worse combination you can get, coupled with the future demographic dividend, you are fcked my fren.:china:
