They should work on these, get the HTT-40, IJT-36 and AJT-39 up and running at least we will have indigenous trainers and won't need to rely on foreign maal.

IAF really needs new Advanced jet trainers ones that can do over mach 1 our air force letting young pilot cadets go from the subsonic kiran right to the Mach 2 capable MiG-21 is the reason for them being called "flying coffins" and the fact that some of the MiG-21's have not been upgraded in decades India had a really shabby pilot training program with a crappy basic trainer (Deepak) and the fact that it took over 20 years to get the BAE Hawk into the air force is another reason for pilot deaths in the IAF and the MiG-21 being called a flying coffin


HAL needs to be self sufficient and conduct R&D into training aircraft as well as transport aircraft etc

Air force require flight training at different stages PC 7 Mk 2 is a basic trainer for the rocky pilotes. while it also requires intermediate & supersonic jet trainers, hence the Kiran IJT & Hawak AJT.

but this special trainer being designed is a little odd...... may be IAF will be the only Air Force operating those.

This looks like it fills the same role as the BAE HAWK AJT so with the willow on order of 50+ to be operated by IAF and IN I'd say this trainer's chances were dead in the water. And I'm glad as it would take along time (look at IJT) to get into service and these training AC are very much needed and are now being delivered by BAE/HAL (AJT). Indian armed services should not have to wait, some times decades, to get equipment available off the shelf now- risking their lives in the process. HAL either steps up or steps aside.

See this is what happens MOD is filled with too many corrupt scum. Rather than simultaneously starting this project after so many hours spent on designing it in AutoCAD, it only had to get shut down. My question is, why isn't MOD run by the military directly even after so many evidences that civilian ministers are totally corrupt, ignorant of reality, egoistic and don't fit into defense matters at all?

Why is it that we don't have ex-captains, majors, commanders etc running the show? Who were NOT promoted to the top brass but retired with rich experience on the field of happenings?

HTT - 40 Is still under Design Phase , And RFI For most of its Vital parts are issued

we are facing Shortage of basic trainers since the deepaks were grounded , so Pilatus will fit the bill till Htt-40 comes up
