No, I don't believe in rankings - as simple as that - Wonder if you were really able to comprehend my post? That's what I meant to say already.

My mistake; I skimmed through your post too quickly.

Doesn't matter how much upgrades it has. Truth is its still a diaper kid after 40+ years of development
Truth IS it Already inducted into IAF on 17 January 2015 and Now in Production.Rest just typical Unsubstantiated Rants
A second series-production aircraft is in flight-testing, and the first three of the initial batch of six are expected to be delivered by June, with the remaining three likely to be handed over before the end of March 2016. HAL plans to produce six Tejas in fiscal April 2015-March 2016 and subsequently scale up to eight and then 16 aircraft per year.

PS: Tejas Aircraft gives Us Experience that only Developing Aerospace Industry can Understand.PAC is Still Miles Away to Reach there Just Like you Suparco.

.
The Tejas is a light multirole fighter fit for the 21st century.

Tejas is a mig-21 replacement. There can be upgrades to it like there has been upgraded "bisons" but design limitations are also a reality.

.
In summation, the Xiaolong is the aircraft of today and the Tejas is the aircraft of tomorrow.
ruined whole article...................... all conclusions in article are good enough, but last one seems more like a propaganda type conclusion not a logical one............sadly

Hummmmm,

May be because the article is not written by PDF trolls. It should have been written by those idiots who always find conspiracy theory in publish article and quote the PDF post of some other idiot as the reference. Article has stated obvious fact. and nothing else. Tejas is the only one of its kind plane.

So ???

Every plane has design limitation including F 22. The question is that how does it meet the requirement for which it was build for. You can not say that it is no match to Rafale or F22 and so it is bad.

Get real. Tejas in the larger picture will not/ can not serve post 2025-30. The world is moving to 5th gen aircraft. Even countries like south korea, turkey, japan are working on their independent stealth programmes. Tejas was meant as a Mig-21 replacement back in 1980 and we are in 2015. It's requirement was not to fight 4.5 gen fighters but to replace 3rd gen Mig-21s.

Now with the rapid advancements in fighter technology IAF is desperately trying to upgrade a Mig-21 replacement as much as they could. This is the sole reason for such a long delay. According to original GSQR the LCA should have been inducted by now. The planners of LCA did not figure in the possibility of stealth jets.

Spending billions of dollars on a plane to replace entire fleets of Mig-21 (which is bulk of IAF) and which will ultimately have to be replaced in a decade or so would mean a lot of money going down the drain.

India should forget its ego and concentrate on 5th gen aircraft which is the real aircraft of tomorrow. LCA is good as a tech demonstrator or a advanced jet trainer. As a frontline fighter its role will always be limited due to design constraints.

P.S. - If it helps your ego the the same arguments also hold true for FC-1.

LCA Mk 1 will serve till 2040 and Mk 2 till 2050

If the Mig 21 which was made in 1960 can serve for 50 plus years then so can LCA

All Air forces will have a COMBINATION of 4 gen / 4.5 gen / and 5 Gen planes

As will IAF ; LCA Mk 1 and Mk2 will be our baseline aircraft along with Jaguar

Then we have Upgraded MiG 29 and upgraded Mirage 2000
Next comes Su 30 MK I followed by Rafale and PAK FA

AMCA is being looked as a replacement for Mig 29 and Mirage 2000
that too after 2030

. .
As a matter of fact Indians have learnt many things from Tejas Program as it was bottom-up program. The JF-17 is top-down approach, PAC have learnt to produce an aircraft but the basic technologies involved are still to be mastered. Indians have learnt the basic technologies and this will help them in future. But Pakistani approach is not bad, are replacing the avionics slowly.

Mig-21 serving for 50 years speaks very poorly of the air force still flying them.

Mig 21 have been upgraded and they are quite capable

EVEN CHINA with a 7 / 8 Trillion GDP has Mig 21 Variants

What LOL ;

Even USA has F 16 A/B the earliest variants which are 4 Gen
Followed by the latest versions of F 16 and F 15 ie 4.5 GEN

and F 22 and F 35 the 5 Gen

Mig-21 is there just to boost numbers. They don't have a chance against modern fighters irrespective of the upgrades.

And who says Chinese have a cutting edge air force? The bulk of chinese air force is obsolete. IAF is scared of china because Indians have a severe case of china phobia. The chinese appear immortal and taller than Indians to Indian strategic policy makers.

Till a decade back the chinese were flying Mig-19s and other such antique pieces.

The F-22 and F-35 are intended to be the future stay of USAF. ALL other variants will be retired including falcons. The USAF is the first air force to commit to an all 5th gen fleet. Having a 4th gen and 5th gen aircraft in the same air force is like having the propeller powere spitfire and Mig-21 in the same air force 60 years back.

There would have been airforces who could not afford an all jet powered aircraft so they would still have propeller driven planes. While the more modern ones would go for all jets. Same case today with 5th gen. Heck the USAF is already doing studies on 6th gen.

You are right on Both counts

But Numbers ALSO matter

Even the most High tech planes have to spend a lot of time in HANGARS for Maintenance

Mig 21 is for Numbers

It take time to build planes ; they cannot be replaced overnight

China's aim is to have an ALL 4 Gen PLAAF by 2020

USAF will replace its older F 16 in a phased manner

First let them sort out their problems with F 35

It is better to have a Mig 21 doing Combat Air Patrol duty in the air
Otherwise if your skies are all clear then
EVEN a Transport plane like AN 32 will come and DROP
5 TONNES of explosives on your head

.
My Airman knows more than you Muppet...

IAF has doctrine of twin engine jets for official parades not like your nation....
Well knuckle head, since you obviously lack comprehension, why don't you ask your airman to enlighten you as why this doctrine was implemented.
